So as it turns out our organisation FingerMaps Team have recently posted a new Minecraft map Be-boxed... totally isn't my map 🙄. Only recently have I discovered that it is actually impossible to search for the map through the search bar since the maps category search bar doesn't allow hyphens. To replicate the issue simply go to the maps category and in the search bar attempt to search Be-boxed. Notice how it removes the hyphen. The map does not show up when searching it in any other way "be boxed", "Be boxed", "beboxed" e.c.t. Almost like the map never existed.
This seems to be universal search bar bug and is likely affecting thousands of packs that are currently hosted on the website. Not being able to search for specific content on the website because they are using a hyphen, tilda or other illegal character is a bit frustrating and hurts not only download/view ratings for the creators but also gives "false search results for inexperienced users.". A proposed solution would be to change this system so that the allowed characters are consistent between content names & the search bar.
and the title of the post has been spelt wrong... 🫡
