I want to thank everyone who has diamonded, favorited, commented, and viewed this contest entry, even though it has been disqualified for a few of the ideas having similarities to existing mods (that I did not know about), it still means a lot to me. I didn't expect this blog to get as popular as it did, or to increase my subscribers that much. I might still look around for a modder to do some of the ideas in the mod. I am also working on a few more blogs at the moment, though I do not know how soon I will be able to post them.

Analysis & Reasoning

My ideas would improve Minecraft by adding new, challenging mobs to fight and massive, epic bosses that would test the mettle of the hardiest warriors. The Mountain Golem boss has enough attack power to one-hit kill a player in full diamond armor and is massive in size while causing huge destruction. The Nether Island boss is also massive and challenging to kill, especially in the Nether, where hostile mobs saturate the land. The Rogues would add other humans to the game who will interact with and grow with the world like the player, and each encounter with a Rogue group would be different because of how they grow with time, providing unique battle experiences every fight. The Diamond Golem would add a more costly and much stronger player made mob to the game, and the valuable new Golem Essence would give the player a reason to fight the new Golem and the other golems, a challenge not many have tried for lack of reward. The new Essence item would also cause conflict for the player, since golems are costly to make and valuable to the player for protection, making killing them a hard decision. Swamp-beasts would add a new swamp biome specific mob that would make going through the creepy swamps even more terrifying, and would introduce unique abilities not before seen in mobs, such as being hollow and able to crash only through trees.

The new items would improve Minecraft in a multitude of ways as well. Wands could provide a new, powerful group of weapons and tools, possibly to help with the powerful new mobs, and would be open for more kinds of wands in the future. The wands are also less generic and more unique to Minecraft, making them better than new, yet boring weapons. Mirrors allow for a new decorative item, which could also be used confuse mobs or see behind yourself. Paintbrushes let people modify maps, adding in markings to let people know where certain things are or to put in directions, as well as letting people write short notes or make artwork which could be easily viewed. Custom paintings are another feature of the paintbrush, which would let people make much more interesting signs than the boring wooden type, and allow players to express their creativity and share pixel art. Adventure map makers would be one of the greatest beneficiaries from the paintbrush, which would let them add even more detail, beauty, and storytelling into their maps. Swamp-beast blood would provide a potion that Minecraft has been wanting, a potion allowing breathing underwater. Breathing underwater could change pvp gameplay, allowing fights underwater without going up for air constantly and being able to dive into the water to avoid an opponent who can't stay under as long, while building underwater would be much easier as well. The stone and iron rods add the ability to increase durability and not need to repair as much. Golem Essence improves gameplay in ways already discussed, and it also can improve already existing items with its abilities, listed in the essence's info image.



Possible Problems

Some possible problems that could occur would be the destruction of blocks by mobs, which some people, especially servers, do not want to happen constantly. To combat this, an option could be added to the options menu that turns damage causing mobs on or off, or sets them to on, but unable to cause damage. Another concern would be lag from the two massive boss monsters. The Mountain Golem, as previously stated, is only moving if the player attacks it, so the lag problem could be easily avoided. The Nether Island, on the other hand, doesn't get activated by the player, though it cannot move and only shoots blaze fireballs, so if the player wants to avoid it, running from it will work.

I'm really busy with projects and work right now, so idk when I'll be able to get this stuff into a mod. I will do it eventually though.
