The Glannedi-class was designed by Pauqaluo Heavy Industries as a long-range strike fighter for extended operations away from allied logistics support or escort duties along more remote FTL lanes. Although Pauqaluo did make attempts to secure procurement deals with the Traqol'eil Republic, the TAUFOG nation in which the company was headquartered, most advertisement was directed towards international customers, particularly nations on the fringes of outer rim sectors which often contained numerous class 3, 4, and other minor FTL lanes which GACIAF and TAUFOG law enforcement could not effectively patrol at all times. To meet what was seen by Pauqaluo's business division as a relatively untapped sources of revenue, engineers focused heavily on durability, range, and reducing maintenance and operating costs. The Glannedi-class incorporated an advanced darkspace drive with a rating of 4.1.5, able to make 1.86 million times the speed of light on a well-maintained FTL lane. This was well above what was typically seen on a strike fighter of the Glannedi's size, and would allow the fighter to match speed with most capital ships and commercial vessels. The design also came equipped with both durability and firepower, outfitted with fast-discharge capacitor banks behind the armor shroud which surrounds the cockpit to quickly restore shields. To destroy hostile fighters or attack larger targets, the Glannedi carried 24 of the popular Firan 607n-b anti-fighter nuclear missiles manufactured by Cyxtess Technologies, as well as three MN-t15 laser cannons from Cuax Technologies. Many systems on the Glannedi were similarly purchased from well-known suppliers to reduce development cost and ensure the availability of replacement parts.

The Glannedi-class would, on release, fail to achieve significant sales or attention in the greater Ivesceel community. Pauqaluo Heavy Industries underestimated the desire for a long-range escort fighter, given the relative insignificance of crime along major FTL lanes thanks to a steady GACIAF presence. While smaller TAUFOG nations did experience above-average criminal activity as a result of their distance from major trade routes and commercial sectors, it proved to be more efficient to use a much smaller number of capital ships when patrolling the FTL lanes which connected those nations to core sectors. Additionally, Pauqaluo's focus on range and durability came at the expense of maneuverability. Most ships utilized by criminals were easily able to outmaneuver the Glannedi long enough to escape or potentially disable the fighter. Pauqaluo Heavy Industries would cease production of the Glannedi-class only three years after its release, choosing instead to focus on more successful products.
