Hello everyone!

Today, I shall show you how to put your favorite piece of music into your lovely Minecraft worlds without mods! Now you can go singing (or dancing to) your favorite song without iTunes. What's more, it will be more 3D, as if you walk away from the jukebox, you won't hear it anymore!

Right, straight in with this:

Those whom are willing to change thy music in thy game shall require:
  • Minecraft version 13w24a or later.
  • Access to zip files.
  • A resource pack template. Here is one.
  • An ogg converter. I recommend this.
  • Texture Ender, downloadable here.
  • Your favorite music. For this example, we will use Gangnam Style by PSY.
The Method:
Windows Only. Sorry, no Mac.

  1. Follow the links in Windows Explorer shown below. Start at where you saved the zip. StepJPGwAABTwrnoAnUaE_WtaYCbBY
  2. Copy your favorite music and paste it onto the desktop.StepJPGwAABRHDAOZJlWrhYRDvfWxM
  3. Open the ogg converter and select your music. Do not change any of the options unless you know what you are doing. Then, download the convert. StepJPGwAADJwValfeLGrCrGVrJu
  4. Choose a disc you would like to overwrite. Remember, if you are doing multiple discs, remember you can only overwrite up to 12 discs. For this example, we will overwrite Gangnam Style with wait. Rename your music the one you want to change. Remember to write it EXACTLY as it appears in the template. Then, delete the original and paste in the new one. StepJPGwAABjwg-nhrWK_RdSttOIrwjgJ
  5. Run Texture Ender and navigate to the resource pack by following the directions below. Note: this directions only apply if you have a computer running Windows 7 or later. (No longer required!)StepJPGwAABxXbPxddrEU_eDA
  6. Copy the converted resource pack over to your Minecraft folder. StepJPGwAAAzXjUzWIGAplGtBVBUy
  7. Go to Minecraft and whip out a jukebox and your chosen disc. (wait, for our example) SteppngwAADFvOibzNqFZFfWfxaHyM
  8. Place it in and your favorite music will start playing! Now get some mobs to dance with in the dancing mobs mod!
What do you mean you don't have the dancing mobs mod? Go get it!

And now, something you never knew about Minecraft before. SteppngwAADGzEjMQmTfxDVcaLEJpolx
The inside of a skull is hollow. SteppngwAADdwaoOoqUEIv-Pfb

Thank you for reading this. Sorry if the pictures are too big of don't show up. There is nothing I can do about them.

Keep calm and carry on!

turns out this is unchangeable without mod or minecraft.jar editing. Its not in any texture or sound files, its in the file where it stores item's ids, names and lores

For some reason, I can't get the custom music disks to work. I put the disk in and nothing plays. I put in another disk with default Minecraft music and it works. Any ideas?

I can't see the images... I didn't want to follow it through blind in case I made a horrible mistake.

It's not letting me see the images...
It shows me a little thing that is apparently a link. When I click it it takes me to a Dropbox 403 error saying I need to sign in. When I sign in it takes me to the home page, then when I try to do it again after signing myself it it for some reason thinks I haven't logged in, and it makes me log in again, taking me-you know it-back to the home page. I've tried closing and reopening, using the link on an already signed-in tab, nothing.

What file in the texture pack holds the ingame songs? I want to change the minecraft music, not the jukebox songs. (:

you can also change these with resource packs. Instead of opening the folder called records open the one above it called music. Then just convert your songs to .ogg format on an online converter like the one Dlljs provided and rename them to the default one's names and replace them. The songs should play in game.

Be ware the default songs start at a low volume and work their way up due to them starting at random times. Most other songs would start with an abrupt start. You have been warned....

Go into (.minrcraft or recource pack) Assets > Minecraft > Music. In that folder you will find the music playing by Minecraft itself ;) The map Records is the one that holds the Music 'Discs'. Hope i helped you <3

This is confusing
Can someone make a one direction resource pack for me with jukebox songs and regular minecraft songs that are one direction then put it up here? It would get a lot of downloads

Alrighty! Give me the audio files and I will make it for you. Please state which discs you would like to overwrite with what songs.

Keep calm and carry on!

yea same here. the author is just to lazy to check if you can and how on a mac. He just said it didn't work just in case it didn't and people complained. can't blame him if he's got no access to a mac tho
