A RANT ON MODS & MOJANG
Alright, if your reading this then I'm assuming that you have played Minecraft (or at least know what it is). And if you've played Minecraft you've probably at least heard of soome mods-- things that you can download that change the game. Some, for example, include the Toomanyitems mod, Battlegear mod, Hack/Mine, Technic Pack, & many more. All these add interesting themes into the game. Lately, I've noticed that updates to Minecraft add things very similar to some mods. For example, I remember a mod during beta that let you control pigs easier. And recently, Mojang added carrots on a stick to control pigs. There was also a mod that made pumpkin pie-- which was added in the pretty scary update... and a mod that let you use commands in single player, which was added a few updates ago. There are several more examples of this, which leads me to wonder... Is Mojang running out of good ideas? And if they are, why not just make it easier to install mods. Right now it can be very difficult and annoying to add mods to your game. Why can't it just be as simple as installing a texture pack, or changing your skin?
