ok one thing before I start this isn't the best map tutorial blog
1.planning before you just start on building a map think about the story and the landscape and a theme
2.if your map is an adventure map it will probably need a landscape this is very hard to do with just putting in random seeds I suggest you use world painter or MCEdit

3.when you have the lanscape finished think about the theme is it what science fiction is it history whats it about
4.after you have the theme and the landscape finished start building thestructures remember to have room for redstone
5.you have the landscape the theme and the structures now you have to install the traps or puzzles its good to do this first because the storylinedoesn'ttake up as much space as the puzzles or parkour and once you have the big stuff in you can set up the little stuff
6.now you can set up a story line in the map and to make things really cool you can use the playsound command by going into assets then sound and then go in the command block /playsound folder1.folder2.sound @p or a@ coords and volume pitch and yeah
7.get someone to test the map for you (get someone else to test because they won't know any secrets you setup in the map)
8.if the map is not succsessful in the test see what you can do then test it again
9.if the issuccessfultake screenshots of thedifferentplaces in the map (not all the places)
10.you can either make your own featured image with some painting or drawing tool or you can take the best screenshot and convert it
11.then you can add a description and everything to the map and upload it
12.if your not satisfied with what your getting from it go back and see what you can do
