As Christmas is knocking on the door , as well as celebrating IRL , why not on your multi-player server as well ? Follow these tips for a festive event NOBODY will forget .

Note: I will only use blocks and items that are in every edition of the game excluding Pocket Edition.

1. Nothing screams Christmas in your face more than a tree . Round everyone up and task them with the job of chopping down wood ( spruce or dark oak is recommended ) and shearing leaves ( any you like ) . Then build the tree ! When your tree gets around 15 blocks tall , consider stopping ; you do have to decorate it after all ! After your tree is built , place chests ( single chests , one for each player ) with everyone's' username on a sign on their box. Leave these empty until it's time to get presents ! Then it's time to decorate ! Use glowstone for fairy lights , clay and glass for baubles , wool for tinsel and a redstone lamp for your star!
Tip: Don't fancy a redstone lamp ? If your tree is big enough , you could build an angel instead .

2. Imagine this ; you open your box on Xmas Day , only to discover there is nothing in it ! THAT would be horrific if that happened to your friends ! So it's time to get those all important gifts ! If you have a stable community built up , instead of trekking down a mine or the other side of the map , why not buy your prefered gifts for your mates at one of your building buddie's shops ? Paintings , Lapis Lazuli , Redstone , potions , food , new weapons and armour are ideal , but if you have a gem lover on the server , why not treat them to a diamond , or better yet ; an EMERLAD ! If you have an enchanting table , or a blacksmith with an anvil , why not treat your best friend to something enchanted , or personalized ! Now , NOBODY can say no to an enchanted , named diamond sword , can they ?

3. Why not treat your friends to a nice , delicious meal ! Tell everyone on your server to not eat breakfast , or snack at all on Christmas day , so they can enjoy your dish . Prepare steak , porkchops and chicken as the main attraction to the meal . Prepare some mushroom stew , and ( for Minecraft vegans ) carrots , baked potatos , apples and melon . For dessert , bake a cake and serve a pumpkin pie .

4. If your Minecraft community has a church , why not host an Xmas service ? Sing carols , place down torchs on an altar and bring donations and baked goods to stockpile for when there's a shortage .

5. Finally , GET OUTSIDE ! Take a walk around town or in the local fields or park . Why not take the dog ( or the cat ) for a walk as well ?
