The Two Types of Boredom
Boredom #1
The Dictionary came up with all these wonderful definitions for Boredom:
1. Feeling weary because one is unoccupied or lacks interest in one's current activity.
2. An unpleasant, transient affective state in which the individual feels a pervasive lack of interest and difficulty concentrating on the current activity. (Which makes so much sense lol ;)
3. The state of being bored.
Personally I like #3 the best.
4. (My own definition) Boredom is simply a nice way of saying that you're too lazy to get anything done.
Admit it, most of the time that's the truth. Look at the example below:
Child: Mom, I'm bored!
Mother: Go clean your room if you're bored.
Child: MOM :(
So, is this kid bored . . . or just lazy? And how many times have you done this? I have to admit I've done it several million times.
That is what most "Boredom" actually is, if that's what you have then don't go around looking for things to do, chances are you already have tons that you just don't want to do. But there is another type of Boredom . . . If you don't have the kind already described then read on, if you do have the kind already described than go clean your room ;) lol, no, jk, I'm not telling you what to do but you should probably get stuff done.
Boredom #2
This one is a little more rare but not extinct, it's easier to kill and has less chance of getting you hurt in the process.
Having literally nothing to do. Being sick, or having already studied for tests, or finished homework, etc. There are millions of things to do . . .
1. Go Google stuff to do when you're bored ;)
2. Clean your room . . . in a nice way! Redecorate, switch around your furniture or figure out why you have certain things in your room ( no, not like a lamp, I mean 3-month-old pizza, I've seen things like that :P )
3. Make a Skin. "But Vanilla!" I hear you cry, "I'm not good/don't know how/out-of-inspiration!" Well, stop crying and let me explain: Not good? Umm, practice makes perfect you know ( it doesn't really but it comes close enough ). Don't know how? There's a million shading tutorials out there and tons of people happy to explain. Out of Inspiration? Try a new shading technique. Google Pictures or make a skin of your best friend/yourself/your pet banana from Pluto.
4. Write a Blog. Seriously, I'm writing this because I'm sick, I've studied for all my tests, I don't have homework and I just finished making a skin. Maybe you think you're bad at writing Blogs? There are tutorials and you can always try, I mean, not all of Shakespear's Stories were good, on second, thought, most of them were lousy *cough, cough* Sorry Shakespear . . .
5. Join a Server. Try joining a small Server, or a big one, or a medium one, really, join any Server you want.
6. Have a Talent? No, this isn't actually a question, of course you have a Talent! Know what it is: Work at it, drawing, writing, trying to throw bananas all the way to Pluto, anything! And if you don't know what you Talent is then find it. ( Try calling or using bait, you know, like: "Yoo-hoo, here Talent, Talent, Talent, where are you? Come here boy/girl . . . )
7. Bake a Cake . . . Then send some to me ;)
8. Build awesome junk in Minecraft!
9. Diamond and Comment on people's posts! Besides making them happy this also advertises yourself; they see someone gave them a diamond or commented they go check out your profile and might Subscribe! P.S. Unfortunately this usually only works with Journeyman or lower :P
10. Read a book, seriously, books are way awesome, or listen to music, or collect resources in Minecraft, or play with your pet if you have one, or draw, try writing a Poem, play with siblings, rewrite a song, etc. etc. etc.
The End
Thanks for Reading, hope you got some great ideas and if you didn't, well, that's too bad :P
Diamond if you like, Favorite if you loved and Comment whether you liked, hated or didn't care.
I like Comments . . .
Bye :)
