When building, you can use few different skills or methods, if you have played minecraft for a long time, this article will just be a waste of time, so skip it, in this blog ill show you how to build nicer (or not), some of these are opinions.
-If you put staircases or slabs in the ceiling, they'll be upside-down
-Glass and Glowstone goes well together
-If you want to have grass blocks "dirt with green bit on top", use any tool with silk touch
-Use the chest in the blacksmith's house in every Testificate village
-When you are in creative and you shoot arrows, even if they miss, they'll just stay there, this may be an advantage if you want to build tombs or graves or decorations
-Take your time burning stone rather than using cobble:
1. It looks nicer
2. You can craft Stone bricks with them
-Pistons look nice when they try to block water
-Use a suitable skin (that's not real help)
-Use X-Ray texture pack to:
Find diamonds, craft a diamond pick, build a portal to the nether, obtain glowstone

You can also:
Use wool for different colors
Use trapdoors
Use the trick "Sign after sign" (place a sign in front of a sign)
Dispensers as face of robots/statues
slabs can also be upside down
