Hello Diamond Miners, I’m Diamonddozen and welcome to Craft Theory: Finally A Decent Episode
Last week I proved why Minecraft physics aren’t entirely wrong. In the context that is displayed in the game they are completely wrong and shouldn’t happen, but I was just saying it’s possible. This week, however, I was in science and we are doing a unit on reproduction (fun right). In the text book it started talking about how dogs were cross-bred to create new types of dogs. For instance a Labrador retriever mixed with a Poodle creates a Labradoodle. Basically what I am saying is that you find creatures like this in Minecraft too. Let’s get started, shall we?
The Creatures
Because I don’t pay attention in class (I’m kidding, I actually do pretty decently in school) I started thinking about Minecraft. I specifically thought about Zombie Pigmen. I mean, seriously, the cross-breed is in the name. It’s a cross-breed between zombies and pigs. Another creature is the electrified creeper. Okay so, creepers aren’t really animals and it’s not actually a crossbreed if you use lightning bolts, but it’s two different elements. Anyway I’m going to break these two creatures down further.
Zombie Pigmen
Since this is the only actual “creature” in this theory I’ll start with it. In my research I found out that crossbreeding is actually meant for designer animals that are made into really designer animals. In this case we are mixing an undesirable animal (pig) with an even more undesirable animal (zombie) to make an actually somewhat cool animal (zombie pigmen). I am saying that when Notch made the Zombie Pigmen he was trying to make a completely awesome species using crossbreeding.
So how do animals crossbreed? That’s a very good question young, impressionable mind. It’s really the same way that species breed with their own species. I’m not going to give “the talk” on Planet Minecraft, because that would be somewhat inappropriate and I’m pretty sure I’d be sued. Anyway, basically the cell from each parent splits in half and unites (that’s the actual word) to create the baby. That’s exactly what happens with crossbreeding (this craft theory is disgusting). The two parent cells split in half and the result is a clone that takes each of its parent’s characteristics and traits. And you memorable hybrids such as the Zebroid (Zebra and Equine):
Or the Liger (tiger and lion):
Or even the most memorable hybrid of them all…the Toast of Botswana (sheep and goat).
Electrified Creeper
Things that aren’t even animals can crossbreed as well. Take the common oak tree for example. Species of Oak have been crossbreeding since the dawn of time. Heck an Oak tree is just a crossbreed from a deciduous tree and an evergreen tree. What does this have to do with Electrified Creepers you ask? Simply putting it, lightning is kind of like a plant. It’s just a plant made out of electrons…I guess. Theoretically what I am saying is a creature is mixing with a non-creature. It’s kind of like mixing a buffalo with a dandelion…eww.
Since this heading has no sustenance I’m just going to stop talking.
So that is why Minecraft supports crossbreeding. If you have a comment about this theory or you have a theory of your own comment down below. Another thing you could comment is an idea for another theory. If you could check out my other blogs (and NINETEEN skins) check out my profile.
