Creepers: how do they work?

Everyone knows that tnt needs redstone to activate but if creepers have tnt in their heads how do they explode?

I think they all have a bunch of readstone close to the tnt like the stomach (if they have one) and when they get close to a human the redstone sprawls all through out the body and when it touched the tnt....

Creepers have downloaded THE motion detection mod :) if u come close they blow up you,your house,and ur guts
