Hey, this is just a small little blog that I am making to celebrate 80 subs :)
Well, I see a lot of people using different terms when refering to texture packs, some say simple, some say bucket fill, some say smooth. This was really annoying, I thought that there should be specific definitions for each one, so I wrote them, with examples.
Simple
This is the category of these packs. Usually, when people are refering to a pack as being "too simple", it means there is a distinct lack of shading. Simple textures are basically the same thing as bucket fill textures.
Bucket fill
Bucket fill refers to the use of the buket tool to create solid colors. The term bucket fill when used while refering to texture packs means there are large areas of single colors, with no shading whatsoever. An example of a bucket fill would be disco_'s oCd.
Smooth
This term does not always apply to simple packs. It can mean that there is a substantial ammount of detail that is very lox in contrast. This term also applies to gradient fills. An example of a smooth pack would be Loafcraft.
Stylized
This is one of the more rare terms. This often means a pack that has all of the aspects of a simple pack, but with a substatial ammount of shading. This term also can apply to packs with "gimmicks", such as Pastel Plumb. Annother example of a stylized pack would be Squareswept.
Well, there are the most common definitions for these packs, hope that this will help lower the ammount of confusion.
Thanks for reading, please leave some comments giving feedback on these definitions.
