This is my first post on this site, just for the record.
As the years pass, more and more video games are being released. And, it seems that a high rise of unfinished games are being put out for early access, usually at a cheaper fee. This may be from the developers giving out teasers that drive the community insane, leading them to practically demand for a build of the game. Most of the time, if not all, the developers would like some people to play-test their game for some time; give feedback and help them improve all bugs, balancing, and the like that comes with game development. However..this is very risky. This early access stage of the game, works just like an ant trap. It is really sort of scary, if you consider it.

How it starts:
We all most likely how we first were introduced to Minecraft. Or really any other game. Whether it be another forum, perhaps a video, or maybe a friend reccomendation --We've all been recruited. For those who played the Beta, I would say there are a good population still lingering amongst us. However, for the Alpha players, that number has decreased. Why? For two reasons. Either 1. They were bored of it then. or 2. They're simply bored of it all together. When it comes to Early access, there could be a flood of players, or a drought. When it comes to flooding, it's just like an ant trap. Why? Because you have so many players, which would be the ants, who are playing this game in it's early stages. Now, they may fall in love with it. They just can't get enough. All day, all night, that's what they do. They're stuck. Then..maybe after a month or some, they're getting tired of it. Now it's the same thing, over and over, and their brain just wants to do something else. Now they move on, or in this case, of they're an ant, they die. As for the people who were bored of the game from the start, they had judged it on it's early stages, which is also a huge mistake. But, there are that bunch who still love minecraft a whole deal, and they stick with us because they're just good people. We love those people, really.

Newer players:
By 'new' I mean after the official 1.0 release of Minecraft. Any Beta player can agree that at some point they started to hear their other friends, or see them play Minecraft. It began to spread. And that's very significant for a team of some people. But, perhaps you, the person who played Minecraft already for a year, feel a bit..outdated. And by that, I mean with just how you feel with the game. Everybody knows that someone's 'first time' is always unique, with anything. Perhaps your friend just found his first dungeon, woo! And..you're just sitting there, big deal. Maybe someone found out that bonemeal helps grow your crops! All of these players, which surround you, are having a blast, but you already experienced all of this. This can drive away some people, but that's not really guaranteed. The point is, the ant trap got you. You were stuck, and now you're 'dead' with it. It doesn't mean you hate the game, it just means you feel like you've already had your desert a bit too early.

Conclusion:
I can't turn my back on Minecraft, it's an awesome game. I'm not hating on it in any way, and I really loved the early access experience. It's more personal and kind of sillier than an official release. What I'm trying to say here is that perhaps next time you see a game that's in early access, you may want to hold off a bit. Know what you're getting yourself into, because you never know, you might fall for the trap. (Which isn't too bad!)
