Hey everyone! I wanted to do something special for getting 500 subs on PMC. Probably the biggest question that I am asked is how I choose colors. Well I decided to open up photoshop and make a tutorial explaining how. Hope you like it! Please diamond it so more members of PMC can see it and hopefully learn from this! Also happens to be right as the tutorial contest started up; I can kill two birds with one stone! :)

Best if viewed here!

How much do you usually shift the hue? I noticed that it always went up, but I'm just looking for a general number to change it.

In another color-picking tutorial I saw this concept: low value-->high saturation; high value-->low saturation.
Yours says the complete opposite, if I understood that right. Weird, but I'll try it out.

Also, I think you forgot (?) to mention how you change the hue, while it's shown in the pics. Is that on purpose?

Anyway, your colors look very nice and this tutorial shows pretty nicely how to do it. Can't wait to try it out ;)

I wrote in words how to change hue, I didn't make a picture that says "DRAG IT FROM HURR TO HURR" I think you guys could figure out.And this isn't the only way to choose colors, this is just how i did. I don't do it this way anymore.

My bad, I guess I should consider reading more mindfully. Of course there are different ways to choose colors, I was just suprised and confused that you do it exactly the other way 'round than I learned it, yet it looks better (or just differently good?). Also, I'm interested in how you do it now ;)

Huh, you know, for the longest time I thought you used to just make a palette and then lightened it in adjustments. Congratz on the 500 subs, such a unique skinner.
