We’ve all at one point in our Minecraft playing experience joined a multiplayer server. Whether it be to play the great selection of mini-games that all of the wonderful servers have developed and laid out for our enjoyment, or just to chill out and do something a little more relaxing, we all have, for one reason or another, joined a multiplayer server. While the main focus of the games is to delight us, much more can happen inside of those mini-games than what may have been primarily intended...
I started playing Minecraft Skywars around a year ago when this version of the game was first released. I had played many mini-games before this one, but this is the game that changed the way I play Minecraft and my life. At this time, I was what you might call a “noob”, even though I had played Minecraft years before this. I had really only played much in Creative mode on single-player servers and barely any Survival, so I wasn’t too educated in crafting items and fighting mobs and players. As anyone who is first starting out in the game, I found it difficult and frustrating getting used to the concept of “PvP”.
Anyone who plays a game long enough is going to make some friends or meet someone who seems cool and friendly enough to hang out with and play the game with. This is what happened to me. As I kept playing Skywars longer and longer, I started meeting people and making friends. The way this happened is that it was either someone I killed in the game, someone who did something funny in the game and I commented on it, or someone that I just saw in the lobby and complimented them on their skin. You can meet people in all kinds of strange ways, as I’ve found out by now. When I say friends, I’m talking about the people you can connect with in your own special way and have a strong bond with. I met a lot of people, some I still play Minecraft with to this day, and some that I thought were my friends, only to turn out to be not so much.
I love my friends and I thank them for all the joy they have given me over the period of time that I have known them and keeping me from being lonely. Because here’s the truth: without my friends, I probably would have quit playing this wonderful game known as Minecraft by now. I probably wouldn’t even be on this website right now. They made me realize that there is more to the game than just mining and crafting or fighting and playing mini-games. I don’t care that all my friends are online only. I don’t care if the only way to communicate to them is through the chat in the game. My Minecraft experience would not be the same without them. They have made me who I am today, and I thank them for that. I don’t play Skywars as much as I used to, in fact I rarely ever play it anymore, but even if I quit playing a game, or lose interest in something, there’s something that I know will always be there no matter what, and that’s my friends.
And THEY are what make me a Minecrafter.
And THEY are what make me a Minecrafter.

The originality was strong in this one. Most of em were like "I play Minecraft because I read that it was cool" it just seems more realistic saying you stay because of your friends. That's why I'm (no longer) a Minecrafter (because my friends harassed me.. Long story.)
Im just glad I actually got finalist, you know? :p
