Hello, PMC! I've decided to start a blog series on How to Gain Levels, As Told by a Totally Underqualified Source! (Seriously, feel free to to disregard any of my advice. I've been here since 2013 and I'm only Level 12.)

First and foremost, quality or quantity? Would it be easier to gain xp by posting moderate-quality work that can be completed in less than thirty minutes but uploaded every day, or high-quality work that's posted weekly? Well, as your Underqualified Source... quantity over quality.

This is, naturally, a controversial issue. Nobody want to see PMC being cluttered with beginner-level skins only posted because people are farming for XP, including me. (If you'll notice, I have a low Subscription Count. This is because I enjoy looking at work that people actually spend a little bit of time working on. However, there is a valid point in quantity over quality.

Let's discuss, for a moment, the advantage to posting quality work:
-You will gain subscribers quickly
-You will have a greater chance of reaching the popular page and having more people viewing your work
-People will be more likely to give you diamonds
Now, these are all reasonable XP-gathering methods, particularly the point on subscribers. For some reason, several people decided I was worthy of their follow within the past week or so and I nearly gaining all of the XP necessary to get to Level 13. Diamonds also hand out a lot of XP, and if a lot of people view your work, you will have a greater chance of receiving said diamonds and subs.

However, posting lots of material over a shorter period of time had a sole advantage:
You get XP just for posting things. I'm sure all (or at least most) of you are aware of this fact by now, but this is actually a very valuable method of gaining XP that seems to be overlooked by a lot of people. Even if nobody looks at your work, if you consistently post one submission every day, you will climb the ranks at warp speed. When you do reach a higher level, more people will click on your profile and check out your work. Since I've returned from my unplanned and unannounced hiatus less than a month ago, I have gained way more XP than I have when I posted more regularly when I was less than Level 10. (Admittedly, the fact that I changed my name to Fandom probably has something to do with this as well. I know at least two people probably only subscribed to me because I was Sans, as said people were also notably Undertale fans.) Nonetheless, people will always be more interested in checking out someone who's Level 15 than someone who's Level 3.

In conclusion, choosing quantity work over quality work will increase you XP faster than choosing the opposite. This doesn't mean that you can just post a crappy skin made from a 4 color pallette with no shading or a lame pixel render of your favorite Pokemon. As a matter of fact, PMC explicitly bans both examples. To gain XP quickest, I'd recommend choosing a specific submission type than you can make things in less than half an hour with, and try to refine your skills. With enough practice, (actually with only a little bit,) you can make decent-quality skins or builds quickly, which will help you gain levels just as fast. And while quantity is important, never completely neglect quality. But feel free to ignore my advice. After all, I'm just some Underqualified Source.

A/N: Please ignore the fact that my organization of this blog is sloppy. Please? It's late and I'm tired and I want to go to sleep. I promise I will try to make the others better.
Edit: I accidentally deleted EnderDurant's comment asking me about the people only subbed to me because of my name (I frigging hate mobile sometimes). To clarify, I meant people only noticed me because of my name.

I have 1 project that is popular that I've made and that's basically gotten me all the levels. Plus, all the people that I see that have super high levels aren't really posting LOTS but have like 1 or 2 projects that go 'viral'. A good example would be texture pack makers and big build teams etc

I suggest making your own cover images. I think originality is important.
