Have you ever just forgotten how much you loved a game? I mean that is in all aspects, a rhetorical question. If you are any level of gamer, the answer is yes. For me my strongest and most recent example of this, is Minecraft.
For a little backstory, I started playing the pc version back in 2012. I had played heavy til 2015, at which I quit because there where so many good games out. So lets fast forward to now; 2017.
It all started about a week ago... I was playing my PS4, and went through that thing we all experience. I was utterly bored, yet I have a a large collection of games. I could play most all of the major platforms (even retro stuff). Even so I sat staring at a wall mindless. Eventually, I somehow found my way to playing my old Minecraft save (PS4). To this day I'm not sure what got me on Minecraft, could have been anything. I guess I was just feeling extra creative that morning. Anyhow I proceeded to explore my old mid evil style town square. It wasn't much but it was one of my early builds where I actually remember trying hard on, and doing detailed decoration. After I explore, I began to start a new cabin. Immediately the game began to click again, it all came back. I was fondly reminded of why I loved playing Minecraft. I started building like crazy. Proceeding to spend the next solid four hours, working on that town.
After a week or so of working on different saves, and getting deeply back into Minecraft. I stumbled on some of the master builds all around the internet...That browsing session, was when I deiced I wanted to see my recent addiction to its end. I would try and become a legitimate miencraft player, and skilled builder. I went out and upgraded to the pc version. Soon I found myself ravaging the forums day after day. After being a lurker for sometime, I'm here on planetmincraft typing away... That's the story of how I rediscovered what came to be one of my top games of all time again.
