How I see the community of Planet Minecraft, and why you should as well.

Let me start this blog off by saying, I love Planet Minecraft. I'm so happy I discovered this wonderful fansite where I've met so many great people and made a fair amount of good friends. So thank you for that. But, this site isn't without it's problems.

Over the past month or so I've seen more and more people complain about the "community" of PMC. These posts are sometimes greeted with "Well get out then if you don't like it". I disagree with that response and it's wrong to post that. Instead you should show them to the true community of PMC. Don't refer to the userbase of PMC as the community of PMC. 

The userbase of PMC is a large number of people, some are dedicated to the site and post frequently. Others use the site once then leave it alone. Those who go onto chat, post on the forums, make relationships with other members (relationships doesn't equal love by the way) should be considered the community. The cretins with only two brain cells to rub together who troll the comments, hate for no reason, and in general are unlike able are not part of the community. This is why I'll never be able to say the community sucks, because it doesn't. Some of the userbase does. 

These are just my thoughts and opinions but I have posted this to share them and hopefully enlighten a few readers.

My reason for hating PMC:

One of my projects, took 2 weeks, 80 views

Another persons: 3 signs and a lever, ligitly nothing else, 1600 views and counting, BS,BS, annnnnd....BS

Dude you should really reconsider what you consider the "community" no offense or anything but i saw this one forum of this idiot who got locked up uploading stuff and he posted "How do i get unbanned i want to keep trolling and hating on people." He is the community because he does things here in your eyes but great speech there.

If i can entrude on this conversation... i dont care about how either of you see the comunity i believe that if you are a true Minecraftian who enjoys the breathtaking sights only seeable through minecraft or a griefer who gos around destroying everything that is made or unmade you still enjoy that which only minecraft can give it is the true way of this amazing game which has no limits...to put this short as long as you enjoy minecraft no matter how or why you enjoy it you are a member of this comunity even if you have never even seen the gates to our cobblestone roads our wood houses our dark caves our giant castles and small little forts you belong.

Since I been here I have seen:
-One Mod post a flaming blog about "tricking" another member into placing underwear in his mouth and taking a photo, and making a blog.
-Another Mod  with a dick in his profile pic take down one of my blog for having a pic of a fully clothed girl, because it was deemed "offensive".
-One member stealing and ripping my skins and reported him and NOTHING was done yet.
-Another Mod who managed to slap a warning on me for posting a reasonable and non-offensive blog over a subject side that he didn't agree with (Kony 2012). In turn he posted his own view on the subject, while I sat watched the hypocrisy, because I was temporarily banned.

So yes, I hate the community... mostly the shitty hypocrite PMC Mods. I have a reason to be angry, I get the raw deal when I have to deal with them. IF YOU ARE A MOD and give a damn about community... just ask me about the issues and I will show you both evidence and example of the Mods abusing their power.

So no, Roxthesox, I do not agree with your optimism, I highly dislike the community.
You are the rare exception of people I get along with, Rox.

I respect your views, and I'm sorry to hear that your experience here hasn't been the greatest. Like I said, there are issues with the site userbase and I suppose even what I like to call the community. I don't love everyone, there are some people on this site that I utterly hate. But I keep those thoughts to myself, because I know that sharing them would likely get me in trouble. 


There are some things you just have to ignore, I do it all the time.

Who knows, maybe I am just in the wrong place at the wrong time watching these wrong people.

I just know I been wronged, I seen other wronged, I just want someone in the PMC Admin to stand up be an adult and try to prevent this from happening.... if previous actions are not corrected.

There's a difference between a "hot girl"(I quote you on that) and my avatar. My avatar is a meme, whereas the picture you posted was nothing near it. Also, please point out where the "dick" is in my avatar. That was the second submission of yours that I disabled 'cause of the innapropriate picture. Please don't try to critisize Zaphod for being sociable. Him and AAmdahl are very good friends, why would he even think about "singling him out"? It was merely a friendly joke.

I have not been in this comunity long enough to say the mods are or are not abusing there power but if i see that its true in an event in the futer past or present you WILL have my FULL backing even if it is against a superior such as a moderater of the comunity.

I remember how ZaphodX told us all, and the bottom of the blog, that it was the "Trolled" user who gave the permission to ZaphodX, to post the blog. They also became great friends afterwards.

Funny you should that

1) ZaphodX refers his "friend's" profile account as crap... and that he wouldn't subscribe and then unsubscribe from profile account that he deemed worthy...
2) We never hear anything from the trolled user saying is was cool or ok
3) If they were really "friends" why he still taking credit for making that user a fool?

All these excuses are made AFTER the issue of abuse is brought up, and these FEW Mods lost my trust for them to do anything honest or respectable. The excuses are lame and mean nothing, iRapp went out his way to ask about issues... is it so hard for Mods to do this instead?

I think iRapp made me trust the Mods a bit more, just because he wanted to just ask about the issue.

My final point:
I wouldn't mind if I was policed, I would welcome it... I just don't want the police to be more crooked than me...

Heh, I used to go on the MC forum, then I took- uh, realized how pathetic their users were. Now I never ever go there except to download snapshots and certain mods (SPC and optifine)

The amount of trolls, spammers, and generally annoying people greatly outweigh the amount of good, realistic users. Thus it makes those forums entirely worth skipping over.
