Hey guys, welcome to another blog!
Hey guys,
Today i'm going to be showing you how to build a medieval house, dbrack style! Now these days anything with a bit of wood and logs in it is labeled a medieval house but about 90% of them are just rubbishy wooden boxes! A real medieval house should have lots of detail, various block types and on the most part a pointy roof !! so without further ado here is my tutorial on making a medieval house!  :)

Step 1
Firstly, clear your location of any grass and trees that may be in your way and of course level it! Then place the foundations in stone so you can clearly see where you are building!
For this build you need a patch of grass 9x13 (the stone i laid out is 7x11 but there is detail out side of the walls)

Step 2
Next lay out your beams for the walls on the ground floor! ive made the cross beams go sideways for a nice effect!
The beams are 5 blocks high and run the length of the stone!

Step 3
Next fill in the cobble for the walls, the ground floor will have cobble walls and the first floor will have wool, then add in the upside down steps for the window tops. Next decide whether you would like fence or glass in the ground floor windows (i choose fence) and place accordingly. After that fill in the detail buttresses round the outside as shown, if your wish create a chimney on one side here is a design i made up ! :).step%203.1.pngstep%203.png

Step 4
next we move on to the beams for the next floor. This next floor will expand out 1 giving you more space, this means your chimney will bend as show. The beam holding the roof up is 5 tall. (if its not obvious to you look atnext step! :)

Step 5
Time to fill in the walls and windows, if on the previous step you were unable to work out sizing of beams this will make it obvious. Once again decide upon what to fill window with, i would advise glass on second floor. Once walls are filled in you can add some trapdoors as shutters to add a bit more detail! At this point you can also choose to add window boxes however i haven't on this one.

Step 6
Next up is the roof. A lot of people choose a straight diagonal for roofs but ,as your can see by the beams, i prefer to make it more of a steep incline, which is more true to medieval buildings. On this design i have only ever used wooden stairs and blocks for roofing however for the sake of this blog i will try out some more block types. Remember to add in some more upside down steps on the ends to make it look slightly thicker!
Wooden planks!

Yellow wool (thatch)!

Stone bricks- tiles

Step 6
Now, once you have chosen and built your roof, its time to just fill in all the final little details to make it that slight bit better! i add upside down wooden stair under the beams, fence and torches to give some nice effects. I also added some cobweb for smoke and of course a front door!

And that concludes my second blog! Thanks for taking your time to have a look and i hope this helps your out!!
