How to Change your Survival World To Creative NO MODS, OR PROGRAMS

Basically, you have a nice wittle flat grass map. Thats survival. Your too lazy to download a program that will give you virus, so what do you do?



(For Ubuntu)

Okay, open up minecraft. Go to the texture packs, and open the texture pack folder. Then go to .minecraft From there, you can access the save files. If your just getting a world, download the world and extract the zip file here.(Around Now, you should probably back up your world) From this section, go to a Creative world if you have one. Get the level.dat, then go to your previously survival world, and delete its level.dat FIRST then paste the new one!



(For Windows)

Okay, so go to the run and find %appdata%.  Then go to .minecraft From there, you can access the save files. If your just getting a world, download the world and extract the zip file here.(Around Now, you should probably back up your world)  From this section, go to a Creative world if you have one. Get the level.dat, then go to your previously survival world, and delete its level.dat FIRST then paste the new one!



(For Mac)

Why not just get toomanyitems?With too many items, face it. You lost survival and hardcore forever until you get rid of it. Toomanyitems is an eternal creative world, you get whatever you want, whenever you want. Sure you can turn it off..but you can turn it on with a click of a button. You loose the journey of working to your goal. I personally, would quite minecraft If I got too many items, so consider that.

Nice work Sumaxi. Couldn't be easier. Worked a charm. It did carry over the personal inventory from my creative world (which wasn't a bad thing, enchanted diamond armour) and dumped me in my original spawn point. Luckily I'd put direction markers there earlier to find my way back to my house.


I can give you a diamond as I have some spares now LOL +1 diamond

Ok, I'm running a mac, trying to change a world from survival to creative, tried doing above but it just wipes everything out. All buildings and things. Any ideas? And don't say "get a real computer" >_>;

yup
... actually, it works, but you go back to the world spawn after you die.
Bad news for people who build away from their spawn point.
Also, the player's inventory is carried with the level.dat

but if you're changing from creative to survival you simply type /gamemode [mode] [character name]. this will switch you between modes whenever you want. you have to be starting from a creative world though.
 typing /help in the game will tell you that.....

You could use my best method I do for this.  Open Minecraft (You've got to have a minecraft.exe plus a account to do this) open texture packs, then look through the folder and go out of the texture pack folder by one in  your in .minecraft      Try that.

i think he means the way you put it. "wittle flat grass map"
so if your on superflat mode and you started it in survival.... its kinda worthless so why dont you just make a new superflat mode on creative.

Did you save it? Because if you notice there are "two" names. One of them should have changed into the creative world's name.

HOW DO YOU GET THIS TO WORK? D: I tried and it just turned the world into the world who's level dat I took. I have a windows, and it didn't work. What am I doing wrong? What I did: 1. get the level dat from a different world, and copy it. 2. paste it into the world I want to change, and click "Replace file", any tips, please

0.o, Lets try it again, make a brand new creative world. Get the level dat after you punched some blocks in creative world and logged out. go into the world you wish to change, and delete its level.dat first and then replace with yours.

...but consider THIS, too many items works on both survival and creative, Toomanyitems is basically full creative. There is no survival anymore, no real survival. You get whatever you want whenever you want then earning it. I don't want to ruin my minecraft game by getting control over EVERYTHING. Just my thought.

Yes ,but to know you can easily get your items back. Lets say you fall into a ravine and die on your most favorite world. Then with a click you get all your items back,and ruin it for yourself in the long term

It is the lazy way, toomanyitems can't do it as easy as this, and, you can easily switch back. If you save a copy of a creative level.dat and a survival level.dat , it takes a few seconds!

TooManyItems just gives you the items, or deletes them. Does it actually change the creative or survival gamemode? I personally enjoy the flight xD

You do coz when you browse folders it opens in windows explorer so when you click open texture pack folder it opens it in windows explorer if u are on windows!
