A lot of server meet their ending solely based on the fact nobody wants to play on the server.
How can you prevent this tragedy from happening to your server? Follow these simple notes,
and people will be more impressed, and appealed to your server, guaranteed.

  1. When writing on signs, use bright colors such as &b &f and &e to please the eye whilst being read.
  2. Use proper grammar and punctuation. This can prevent misunderstandings and make your staff seem more mature to the players.
  3. Keep your spawnsymmetrical as best as possible, and do not have signs placed at random spots, as this may irritate players with ocd or similar traits.
  4. Keep the spawn professional, do not use ore blocks, grass, dirt, cobblestone, or beacons.
  5. State the rules clearly. Establish that you are the supreme being and you will take action if the rules are broken.
  6. Have some form of protection for the players (Lockette, LWC, Deadbolt, Factions, Towny). This will prevent them from quitting if they get griefed or something stolen from them. (This can be altered for hardcore pvp, and pvp servers to the owners desire, if it is stated in the advertisements or rules that there is griefing and stealing.
  7. Stay mature when a player is addressing with you with a legitimate question or concern.
  8. Allow players to give feedback and change based on their feedback,after-all, they are the ones playing on the server.
This is not a sure way to get players to stay on for months upon months, but it will appeal to players more, rather than a sloppy, quickly-thrown-together server.

I hope this helps out your server and helps maintain a steadyplayer-base! Diamond if this helps/helped you or you like the ideas!

Welcome to server running 101.

I believe if you did not know these things, you should not run a server.

Stay mature while talking with players isnt always true. I am almost never mature at all on my server and thats why they like me.

I may not have explained this clearly. What I mean by stay mature while talking to players is, when a player is addressing with you with a legitimate question or concern, don't respond in an immature manner, as it may make them quit.
