Hello and Welcome to my short tutorial on how to make a good thumbnail
This is a step by step guide so you should be fine if you follow along

What is a thumbnail?

A thumbnail is the picture people see before clicking on your submission, it's what you rely on firstly to help you attract people to your blog.

Sadly lot's of people miss the goal of a thumbnail and how important it is. That's why I am writing this. To help people make decent thumbnails

The two main purposes of a thumbnail that everyone should know
1. Inform
and
2. Attract

if your thumbnail can do these two tasks, then you've got a good thumbnail.

So let's get started

Step 1. Picking your background

Your background is just as important as anything else in your thumbnail. Let's say you made a 1 to 1 scale of The Pyramids, and you really want to show that off, you take a picture in minecraft of it and post it into your editing program, that's it, that's the first step done.

Step 2. Title

The title is what informs people, it tells them what this is, make sure to keep it simple, the color can't be close to the background or they'll clash and look ugly.

Step 3. Extra editing

My favorite step, going the extra step just to add things that you didn't add in the two previous steps, you'll almost always have Extra Editing, though it's fine if you don't.
You'll notice I added more text, a logo, and lightning effects

That was a thumbnail I made in a few seconds, now imagine what you could do if you sat for a few minutes and made an amazing and attractive one.

But hey speedy, slow down, make sure not to do any of the following common mistakes:

Common Mistakes:

- using neon colors is a HELL no, don't ever use neon / really bright colors, they hurt the eyes and clash with almost every other color.

- too much editing, editing is good, but when it's too much and there's lots of things going on in the thumbnail it becomes chaos

- long text, keep your text short and self explanatory

- try to keep the width a bit more than the height

xD You Haven't Noticed it? It's called Microsoft Paint! You just gotta find it somewhere on your computer! (You have Windows 8/10 Anyways, so you gotta do some complicated searching to find it. For me, since I made Windows 8 Look like Windows 7, It makes it easier for me to find it. x3)
