Thanks for all the people who Diamonded this! I really appreciate it. Unfortunately I didn't make it Into the top 50 :( Anyway as a thanks I have put the map download link on this blog! :)
Today I will be telling you how to make Smoke on the Water with Noteblocks and a Minecart Track. It takes about half an hour if you're good at noteblocks and a bit longer for beginners. Be sure to watch the video above to see what the end product should look like. Lets start!
Use Creative Mode! Superflat recommended for Beginners!
Step 1 Create a Minecart Booster. You'll need: A basic block (dirt in this tutorial), A Button and powered rail.
Place a powered rail on the ground. Place dirt 2 blocks to the side of it. Then place the button on the dirt block on the side facing the rail. It should look like this:
Step 2
You'll need: All 3 types of rails, Redstone Dust, Dirt, Noteblocks and a Minecart.
Build a straight track about 56 blocks long.
These are the chords that you will use:
E- E, G#,B
G- G, D, B
A- A, C#, E
A#- A#, D, F
Next to the Chord names there are the notes which make up the chord.
For each chord you will have 2 of the 1st note, 1 of the 2nd note, 1 of the 3rd note and the bass note will also be the 1st note. For Example An E chord will be:
Piano (Dirt): E, E, G#, B
Bass (Wood): E
Look at this diagram (via Minecraft Wiki) for the number of right clicks needed for each note:
For piano notes place the Note block on dirt or air. For bass notes place the noteblocks on Wooden Planks.
Now arrange the blocks and notes like this:
-Noteblocks next to a red square are bass noteblocks (place wooden planks under them)
-The track next to the blue square is where the minecart should start
-Redstone Lamps are optional
Step 3:
Step in the minecart, press the button and there you go.
Please leave feedback in the comments below. If I missed anything make sure you tell me.
Converting the chords to Guitar and Keyboard
Converting the chords is very easy for Experienced Guitar and Keyboard Players.
This is the chord sequence:

This are the fingerings for the guitar chords:
and keyboard chords:
