Greetings PMC

Today I will be interviewing a legendary PMC member, and an amazing skinner and artist.

Planet: Hey! So, question one how did you find PMC?

Sump: I'm probably not going to give the most accurate answer, with how long ago it was, but I think I was just looking for a place to post my terrible, unshaded skins besides the Skindex, and it showed up in the search bar. At first when I joined, there were under a thousand users and I couldn't get the views I wanted, so I didn't use it much for the first few months after I joined.

P: After you didn't use it for a few months, what inspired you to come back and continue posting?

S: It started to explode, in a few months it went from around a thousand users to 46k when I got interested again.

P: Did you ever expect to get so popular?

S: Definitely not! I only started to get noticed from making the Arcane Pack, and I didn't really expect to be able to make a texture pack when I started. I just wanted to have control of how my minecraft looked, and see if I could learn how to do it along the way. It helped my drawing a lot, when I started I had never been interested in art.

P: When you began your artwork, did you teach yourself, or did you use tutorials?

S: I just taught myself. I think texturing taught me a lot though, so I was able to skip the beginner stage.

P: Do you have any goals for the future?

S:  I haven't got many related to minecraft, or PMC. I'd like to make a forum group dedicated to helping people get better at drawing, painting, using digital art platforms, all that jazz. These days though, I'm mainly a lurker, but the level of creativity in this community keeps me around.

P: Do you have any shoutouts to friends on this site?

S: He hasn't posted anything in years, but my best friend BenjiToe http://www.planetminecraft.com/member/benjitoe/
is the only person I know IRL that uses PMC. He and I got addicted to minecraft together, and he was the beta tester and one who gave me feedback on all the stuff I've ever made.

P: You went through 9 month period of inactivity. What brought this on?

S: I had gone through a shorter period of inactivity before that, and coming back from that I found out that MinecraftUniverse had started using a skin I made. I also came back from that shorter period of inactivity to an inbox full of angry messages from his fans about how I had stolen it and -insert vulgarity here-. Despite having the oldest submission of it anywhere online and a video of the creation. But yeah, I was getting really stressed out about that, and eventually just decided to go off the radar and quit completely. 

I couldn't stay away forver though this community is too fun :D

P: Do you have any advice for new members?

S: I guess I'd say just keep trying to make better submissions and content then the day before. When Doku came back after like 2 years of absence he didn't just match DokuRPG, he topped it with DokuCraft. 

If you want quick Xp, the more you post and update, the more your content sits on the main page before being buried.
