This short story takes an emphasis on Arkouda's after-thoughts about the Forvisat and his own concerns about the others.
So the war against Forvisat has come to an end. With half of their forces as vassals, the continent of Amelia got to enjoy the peace once more. However, the outcome is not so forgiving, as most of Amelia's national army had to be disbanded. Civilians are now sitting on a burning fire, as their belongings were destroyed when the Forvisat attacked and occupied their homes. Also, there are reports about the possibility of a proxy-war by the Empire of Upplysningen, to stage a civil war and replace its head of state with a pro-Empire puppet. These rumors indicated that the stability is an peril.
That's why we have to part our ways again. While Cassandra is coming for Antarktis to do research on the ruins of a labyrinth, I will start going on several diplomatic missions, intent on searching for new allies to support for our cause in the dark times ahead. What we'll see is unknown to everyone, however. There's no reason to be hesitant now, the time is running short.
Putting these things aside, I'll never know why but I still have doubts about his recent behaviour. Since then, e's always seen holding that tome, rumored to be of demonic nature. His personality also violently drifts, ranging from "making the past pay" to "the end justifies the means".
He'll have to go, but the fate of Amelia won't become better off without him. After all, he held the knowledge of his former civilization - the key to defeat this Empire once and for all. I may miss the Mother Nature so much, but Prometheus is now at stake and I cannot retire without doing them a favor. If possible, then I will just sacrifice myself in the name of my Mother, hoping to see her in the afterlife. I swear.
