After a long stretch of not bothering to review a server, I bothered to review a server.
Server Name: Creepolothism
Server Address: creepolothism.net
Server IP: 91.121.226.98
First logging on, you can tell these guys like more of the creepy/mystery style & design appeal(no doi.) You're in a completely black room with no way out except a spectacular drop down. The rules, ranks, and tips are put up quite simply, and on a spiral staircase spanning out from it, which is kind of a good idea, as it sort of encourages players to view those areas, but still gives them a subtle option not to. The spawn area is quite the opposite as a colorful and in-your-face spawn, it's more isolating and dark, and clearly submitting your options of gameplay. So in short-I really liked the spawn area.
Actually playing though was another story: to prevent players from just coming on for the sake of griefing, there is a 30 minute delay where you remain in the "Guest" rank before you're promoted to the "Builder" rank. Basically, for 30 minutes, you can't build in Survival or Creative. In some ways, this is a clever solution, but most people... especially players just server hopping, will almost instantly be turned off by this sort of thing. It could be a way to weed out people, but even after I waited the 30 minutes and earned build privileges, the server's survival just seemed like any typical, vanilla survival world. The creative, because it's just a survival-seed freebuild in creative mode, seemed like any typical freebuild creative world. However, I will say some of the builds you see are spectacular and awesome.
I guess even though you have to wait 30 minutes before you can build, you can spend those 30 minutes exploring the spawn, reading the rules and the ranks, and looking at all the creations, or better yet, wandering out from the spawn and finding a place in survival. In the survival, they give you /sethome and /home, which a lot of servers don't give you.
The people on the server seem fairly friendly, and willing to talk to new players, but you probably shouldn't come on if you're 12. The server regulars, and the administration seem to not care that much about use of language, or inappropriate things. Also, despite how serious and cleverly designed their server is, they seem to have a quirky way about running it, which is a quality that I kinda like about this server.
To sum it up: This server is great for older teen MC players. It doesn't seem to be ridiculously popular either, so it's very tied and more about having a good time with the guys on there. The only thing I don't like is the 30 minute no-build period, I like the idea of it, but 30 minutes seems a bit... long. It just edges it more towards a community-based server than a public server. But despite that-I believe that this server is a genuinely good server.

We have also lowered the cooldown time to 15 minutes, but we still tell people it is 30.
