How to play Minecraft Xbox 360 Splitscreen

Minecraft Xbox 360 version just recently came out (May the 9th) in Australia and I was wondering "how do u play splitscreen?" And then I saw a tip a the bottom of the screen when Minecraft was loading. It said "If you play this game in High Definition mode you can have up to four players on the same console." So then I thought "HD mode huh?" and then in my mind i pictured HD = HDMI. So I went and bought a HDMI cord from BigW. 
These are the instructions:
1) Make sure you have a HDTV or at least a tv that has a HDMI input.
2)Buy a HDMI cord.
2A) Plug the HDMI cord into your xbox 360 and TV.
3)Make sure you have 2 or more controllers and the same amount of profiles or more.
4)For no one on the internet to join make sure "online mode" and "invite only" aren't ticked
5)Make sure all people that want to play have a controller and are signed into a profile.
6) When in game press start on the other controllers twice to go into split screen mode. 
7)Diamond, Comment or Subscribe!!!

Raig Mode!Q: Do you also have to have an HDTV besides the HDMI cord? If so, then they owe me a refund...I still say they should at least give is 2 player splitscreen for old televisions, since resolution isn't that great. I played MC and it looks difficult to see in single player xD

In your TV it has to have a HDMI port to plug the cord or you can't play splitscreen.

You have to buy a HDMI cable and plug it into your xbox 360 then into your TV. You also need two controllers or more and two or more profiles on your xbox. If you want to make it so no-one else except for the people in your house can join you have to make sure that there is no tick in the "online game" box. Also make sure "invite only" is not ticked. When in game you simply press start twice on the second controller and you have 2 people playing.
