At this point in time version 1.9 for minecraft is coming in the future with new blocks (as usual) and some mysterious way of making the enderdragon re-spawnable. Aside from that, from this I've formulated some of my own and possibly re-spoken ideas.
Emerald Tools
Durability between Iron and Diamond or more than Diamond
Tools giving emeralds use as more than just decoration or trading items
Emerald Armour
Durability between Iron and Diamond or more than Diamond
Armour giving emeralds use as more than just decoration or trading items
Obsidian Chest
Creeper- proof chest that can be turned into a double chest, uses obsidian instead of wooden planks.
Can be broken with a diamond pickaxe and items within the chest are dropped just like a regular chestr\
Pencil
Crafted with charcoal, stick and clay block (equipped with ink cartridge) this could edit placed signs by changing the text. Durability use of 124 times, this item can be repaired with another pencil.
You need to craft the ink cartridge using glass bottle and 3 ink sacs (shapeless) with 3 uses each (per ink cartridge). Combine this with the pencil (shapeless recipe) and right click on the sign to edit it. Each time you edit it, it will use the ink cartridge and will stop working when you've used the cartridge up.
Bow Enchant
Add the ability to put looting enchant on a bow, this enables people to be able to have the looting chance on the bow as well as the sword
Non- Minecon Capes
Yes I said it, capes! Whilst it would mean that minecon capes are not as valuable, minecon capes come as a part of the minecon event. I like the idea of perhaps having a cape feature, to unlock it, Mojang could have you pay a small fee to "unlock" the ability to choose and make your cape or upload a pre-designed cape.. Capes such as the minecon designs and Mojangsters' capes would be excluded.
As minor as it seems, capes are nice to have in game rather than having to rely on a mod or going to minecon to be able to receive one.

1: A mob that starts spawning after you get your first diamond (or something like that, just not when you start), that would siege your base and try to destroy your chests.
2: Imagine hunting in minecraft. You walk around, find something and kill it. Now imagine going out, setting a trap (and baiting it), then coming back the next day to see you got a rabbit or a pig. It would just be cool. Also traps that could just kill raiding mobs, like my first suggestion. A bad guy runs into your base then gets skewered by a big goddamned stick! That's just cool.
3: New ores would be nice, or even a new use of gunpowder, like making a musket. Or making dynamite. Or something else cool like that.
4: Back to mobs, I would love to see some new cool ones. Maybe giant ants that have naturally generated burrows with loot in it. Even something like orcs, goblins and trolls with a stronghold of loot. (If you can't tell, I like adventuring)
That's really it, probably most of that stuff already exists in mods, but I would love it in the real game.
I'm a bit of an adventurer myself especially with new things, the new End 'farlands' they've been dubbed makes me want to explore them eagerly especially since I felt like the End was a bit lacklustre in terms of exploration.
