I’mnsprinting through the prickly Great Forestnof Uppersburgh. My name is Callen and I’mnpart of the small town of Middleton.nI’m carrying a bunch of supplies that I stole, weapons, tools, you name it andnit’ll be right here in my arms. I am stealing from the rich and selfish town ofnUppersburgh. After the plague 14 years ago, almostnall humans were killed by an unknown disease. I am one of the unlucky few thatnsurvived. I wish I died along with my parentsnbut I didn’t. Back to what’s going on, Uppersburgh guards are shooting at menwith guns that they salvaged. Everyone in Uppersburgh was filthy rich when daysnwere good. The plague happened the day I was born.

nn

Still sprinting, nhoping to cross the border of Middleton where they can’t follow me. They’renclosing in on me and I can hear bullets whizzing past my head. I can see thenborder! *BANG*

nn

“Ahhhgg!” I bellow like a little girl as a deep gash goes through mynback from a knife. I fall down and they catch up with me in a second. One guardnlooks down at me with a scowl that could kill, he was very pale but very tall, nprobably the leader of the group. He scowls,

nn

“You aren’t getting away dis time grunt!” and henpunches me in the face and I pass out.

I wakenup in a small jail cell. No windows, just ansmall set of iron bars and an Iron door. I try to bang on the door but annelectric shock so intense goes through me I almost black out, again. The groupnleader walks in.

nn

“I’m John. The leader of the sectionnof guards here and I’m here to talk some sense into yah!”

nn

“You won’t get anything out of m-,”nI yelp before he backhands me across thenface. I wasn’t out for too long so they didn’t search me. I kept one thing Instole from them, it was a pistol. Fully loaded and ready to go.

nn

“You aren’t leaving here till yountell me what I want!” John shouts.

nn

“I cannwait,” I mutter. He turns to walk out and I pull the pistol. *BANG* Inslightly miss but It goes right through his ear and he yells out in pain, Infire another into his head and he falls, most likely dead. I already here morenguards coming, so I start running.

nn

A boy steps in front of me with a larger gun pointed atnme, he fires and I realize I’m dead. But instead the bullets buzz by my headnand hit 2 guards behind me who were trying to sneak up on me. The boy is around my age, fifteen maybe.

nn

“What are you waiting for? LETS GO!”nhe shouts and then sprintsntowards the injured guards and I follow him. He leads me straight to the exitnand I’m out of that place. I realize I’m in the middle of Uppersburgh. Peoplenstart yelling and alarms go off. I have an idea. I start running around tryingnto find a match, the boy stops me and hands me a lit one. What doesn’t he have?nI take it and throw it into a house. The house catches ablaze and a woman and 2nchildren come running out, at least there unharmed. Its then when I try to run again I realize I still have my wound. Anguard punches me in the back and I fall. He takes out a knife and starts to cutnmy neck but he falls.

nn

“Roa- gahhh!” he yells. The boynsaved

menagain. He shot the guard in the head. He helps me up and whispers,

nn

“My name’s Jay, now are you justngoing to sit there, or get a move on?” I try and get up but I go right backndown due to the pain in my back. My cut had split right open. Before I know it Jay was dragging me right out ofnthe flaming town. Guards were in chaos and I could barely breath through thensmoke, that one match did a lot. It was windy and that just kicked up the firenmore. Guards are starting to get into order and 3 come at me and Jay, I get upnand start wobbling with Jay. I shoot one guard with my pistolnbut Jay isn’t so lucky. He gets hit by one of the guards in his leg and falls.nI try to pick him up and drag him but I’m not as strong as he is and he weighsna bunch. More guards come and we’re surrounded.

nn

“Give up kid and tell us where yountook the stuff you stole from us!” bellows a random guard. I’m confused? Inthought they caught me and got the stuff back? What happened to it?

nn

“I don’t know where it is.” I coughn“I thought you guys got it back from John.”

nn

“HAH! That traitor? We killed himnyears ago!” bellows the guard and begins to laugh, the others join in. So thatnmeans John was pretending to be a guard and he’s still alive? I now have nonidea what’s going on, at least they don’t have the stuff I stole. The guardnkicks me hard in my stomach. I groan loudly. Jay stands up,

nn

“I have it and you will never getnit.” What? Jay has it; he must be working with John! He stands up.

nn

“Sit down kid!” bellows the guard.nHe doesn’t, instead he shoots the guard straight into his heart. Blood gushesnout like a geyser. I almost vomited. Jay then points the gun at me and snarls,

nn

“Gottcha.”  Thennhe shoots me. I fall to the ground.

nn

Once again I’m stuck in a room. But it’s not pale, it’sncolorful, it looks like a hotel room. It hasna bed and a refrigerator and everything, even a few windows. There’s a door. Intouch it and open it. Nothing happens. I must be in heaven. I must be dead, butnout of nowhere Jay jumps out from behind me and shouts,nn

“Wake up!” I fall down but don’tnfeel a thing. He gets down next to me and bellows “Wake up!”

nn

I was dreaming. I wake up in a pale room, now that makesnsense. Jay walks in and states looking down at a clipboard,

nn

“I guess your times up, you can go home. Also here isnthe stuff you tried to steal from Uppersburgh” I’m confused. Very, very, nconfused.

nn

“Where am I?” I ask confused.

nn

“A place you will see again soon. Now the exit door isndown there, goodbye.” I walk out, when I’m outside the building is gone. Instart stumbling; even though my back still aches I find my way back to town thennext hour. Home sweet home, and with me, food, supplies, and most importantlynweapons. We will probably be fighting Uppersburgh soon, and I will make sure I’mnready. The Front Line awaits me.

You use the word "Uppersburgh" to much.
