force update and if that don't work delete your user make another and download mc again

Try force updating:

or try deleting the whole .minecraft folder but backup your worlds first then play the .exe or browser on minecraft.net.

Try going to your search and type in Run then click the Run program then type in %Appdata% and hit enter and there you should see .minecraft and that holds all of your sources. (Texturepacks, Worlds, ect.) and now copy all of that besides bin somewhere then delete .minecraft then run it again and it should update as minecraft 1.0.0 then drag all your sources back in the file. Hope this helps!
Also make sure your playing in launcher not browser just in case.

delte the stuff in the minecraft. file then restart the game then update :D

if you want to update it, if you click on the options button you can force it to update.
