I have been noticing that some people updated and there sound has vanished!
I have some methods to fix that! (These methods might not work for you though)

1 hold F3 and S in the same time
2 re-download the resources file and replace with your old one
3 unzip all the contents in the resources folder
4 delete the bin folder and click the force update on your minecraft launcher/ minecraft login page
