So I've been working hard on getting my Crossbow Mod 2 out. Now that I've released it I'm looking for some feedback on what you guys would like to see next. I have some ideas for some more ___++ mods, and also have some ideas that I'd like to add to my existing ___++ mods. What would you guys like to see more?

Some of my ideas:

  • Adding stairs, slabs, etc to Obsidian++, End Stone++, and Netherrack++
  • Brand new ___++ mod (give ideas on which material)
  • Making my current mods multiplayer compatible

Leave some suggestions! Thanks

Ideas: Built-in Effects that are not enchantments, but are built into the item type.
Soul Sand++ - Weaponry and Tools have a built-in slow effect. Armor has Knockback Resistance somehow.
Netherrack+++ - Weaponry and Tools set enemies on fire. Armor has built-in Fire Protection, similar to drinking fire protection potions that last until player unequips, except each armor piece provides a different value of fire protection based on material costs.
Obsidian+++ - Armor provides built-in Blast Resistance. Tools come with built-in meager level Unbreakable to increase durability. Is it possible to add the effects without taking up an enchantment slot?
Glowstone+++ - They glow of course, but weaponry also has built-in Smite effect against undead. Armor glows, and may have slight Night Vision potion effect if armor pieces or the full set is worn.
Redstone++ - Powered Tools have built-in Haste potion effect(or just make them faster) and Powered Armor has built-in Potion of Swiftness effect.
End Stone+++ - Bow has Infinity enchantment. Reference to the use of many arrows while fighting Ender Dragon. Armor has built-in modest Regeneration potion effect while worn.
Sponge++ - Creative Mode - Armor has built-in Protection or the Resistance potion effect. Breathing and Speed underwater reduced. Attacking water with weaponry or tools soaks up and eliminates the water block.
Lapis Lazuli++ - Weaponry and Tools function faster underwater. Armor provides both of either Respiration/Waterbreathing, and the Aqua Affinity effect(increased underwater mining rate). Maybe partial respiration effects with armor pieces, and full Waterbreathing with the full set.
Cactus++ - While worn, armor damages mobs on contact, similar to the way a Silverfish hurts the player. "Needle"s could be crafted for use with a "Blowgun"? Cactus weaponry causes modest Knockback and/or Weakness/Slowness.
Cocoa Armor++ - You jump higher with a built-in Jump Boost potion effect that lasts while worn.
Lily Armor++ - You can walk on water? Is that even possible? Dunno.
Flower Armor++ - Slight Regeneration effect while basking in sunlight while worn. Low Protection.
Mushroom Armor++ - Slight Regeneration effect while masking in darkness while worn. Low Protection.
Leaf Armor++ - All pieces give a kind of Feather Falling bonus effect(Less damage on falls). Minimal Protection.
Sugar Armor++ - Each additional piece gives an increase to speed boost. Very Low Protection.
Ice++ - While using Ice Armor/Weaponry/Tools, all water you step on/strike freezes. New "Thin Ice" trapblock that breaks upon contact? Possibly make Ice Cream from Ice, Milk and Sugar?
Vines++ - Poison resistance, if possible, and weaponry Inflicts Poison on Strike. New "Thorns" vine block that damages/poisons/hinders mobs, and is crafted from Spider eyes, Vines, and Cacti?

The sponge: If you jump from a couple of blocks will make you bounce up a bit (Longer fall = More bounce) Oh! And you find (A bit less rare than emerarlds) Sponge growing underwater!

I would love this!

Hey, since your mods rock and all, I am going to request one since that's what you asked. What about a mod like this:

Diamond Stars (Here goes.....)
Now you can craft Diamond Stars! Put diamonds in a T-shape crafting to get them. You can craft them into tools and armor that are stronger than diamond. You can also put them in an enchanting table shape with the original recipe without a book to make a Enchanted Lamp. When you are within 10 blocks of it, it lights up as bright as glowstone. Otherwise it doesn't give off light. Likewise, you can do a recipe of an Enchanted Lamp upside down to make a Cursed Lamp. Cursed Lamps darken when you are within 10 blocks of it and are otherwise light as glowstone. Hope you like my idea for you!

Diamond Stars don't seem like a material you would use to make stronger diamond equipment, as it's still a diamond object, and not a stronger material. Maybe you could string Diamond Stars to make a Holy Star that you can wear. It could have an effect like "undead mobs do less damage", or you gain the Smite enchantment and do more damage against undead mobs. Diamond Star should also be in a star-like "Gingerbread Man" shape and not a "T-shape". I don't get the costly usage of an Enchanted Lamp or Cursed Lamp, when you could just get glowstone, or a redstone lamp. Would it just be like a novelty item?

Well, diamond stars would have MORE diamond, so like heavier, y'know, and like STAR so maybe like diamonds are kind of magic or whatever????? and the lamps, they would be useful for like adventure maps or without redstone. It would be like a heat sensor, so even MOBS could activate/deactivate it. and stop criticizing everybody's ideas. It's getting annoying.

then why not just diamond block tools and armor

why stairs aswell

well, a motion sensor type object would be cool. I don't think I would use it for lighting effects though, as turning on/off lighting near mobs can alert you, but wouldn't do much else. I remember there was a motion detector mod, but it's still for 1.3.1

you could make a really tiny mod which just allows redstone dust to go up walls and can conduct a tiny bit further and bring back the old way of doing redstone circuits with redstone ore aswell as redstone dust and maybe add 'BLUESTONE' and 'YELLOWSTONE' and 'GREYSTONE' dust

Richgar

What would be the difference between redstone, bluestone, yellowstone, and greystone? Are they just for more varied colors of wiring? Also, there's already the Vertical Redstone mod, which lets redstone go up walls.

the greystone and whatever is to get redstone on 1 block and bluestone on the other block but they wont connect to each other only to the 1 of the same colour...it would be useful for complex circuits in a small place

Richgar

I can already see why that would be useful.... I actually wouldn't have to lay down such complex redstone wiring if I could have colored wires that don't automatically connect to eachother. Wiring could be a lot more compact, and also a lot more flexible. Neat idea!

why not just use the insulated wire from redpower

spike43884
Level 11

August 29, 2012, 7:47 am

you could also see if you can make blocks with like a small hole in them that redstone/(the other colour powerstone things) and water+lava can pass through or you can simple use as a tiny little window (it would be hard with lighting to go correctly through it) but it could have a 1 pixel block and could be wood woodenplanks and cobblestone and smoothstone
any 1 of the above materials=O
iron ignot = I
nothing =X

or do a 'Armour++' and make it so when you craft armour you can put gems inside it which give it certain properties ontop of the enchantments aswell and add some new enchantments to armour like 'Holy' and that gvives you resistance against undead/evil mobs

Add a diamond++ kind of mod, except instead of the usual stuff.. this:
You can mine diamond, then you can smelt it into a diamond ingot type item then with the ingot you can mix it with redstone to make different redstone things or make a heavier set of diamond tools and armor :D just a suggestion, idk lol

I have a really cool idea! If you had a raw material mixer (because mixing every block in minecraft is too much)! It starts with a block made of four separate raw materials crafted the same way you make a crafting bench. it would be called *enter name here*. The block would mix raw materials and blocks of the raw materials (iron blocks, gold blocks, etc.) to make a whole new material which will be used in weapons, armor, etc. Dust and powder like substances will have to be mixed with full pieces. maybe a block that will make the dust into one full piece. this is just the basic idea for now.

I have another idea for the crossbow mod 2. How about adding a dummy or a target that moves so we can practice our shoot. Also ,have you ever heard of a 2 stage rocket? If you have you might aready know what i'm going to say. You should try making this attachment that alow what you shoot to multiply attacking a big radias. I have one last idea for the croosbow mod. You should try to make an arrow that catches animals.Another idea is something else not including the crossbow. You know how there is wooden tools and weapons? I think there should be wooden armor too.It will be easy and give you protection once you start

well a '2 stage rocket' is a spaceshuttle that drops of 1 fuelpod below and then powers itself from another fuel rocket but most rockets are '3 stage rockets' like the 'Saturn V' (from a nasa space program)

I had an idea... an idea i really want made into a mod for a few projects i have... [crates++] basically the mod adds a new block type and crafting recipe. This is to make blocks look cooler and make for compact storage space as well. Like the iron, gold, diamond and lapis blocks, make all materials like that, but make them look as if they are in shipping crates. Big wooden crates, with a picture of the resource on the front. It would be pretty cool to have and look nice as well. Another idea: [redstone++]redstone blocks, armor, tools, and stuff. Thank you for reading and considering my ideas.

slimeballs++ when u hit a block or mob with a tool/sword of this kind it makes them tick to it until u put it away and then it drops it so say u have no diamond pick but u have a 3 slimeballs ud be like man i cant use Netherrack++ but not a problem now cause i can move Obsidian with my Slimeball pick so ya i guess u get it and also a slime block which is bouncy bounces 5 blocks up.. and when landed on doesnt deal fall damage btw if ur holding a creeper on slime sword it will explode and skelly will shoot
