We all try to avoid death, whether it's from creepers, zombies skeletons, or even from forces of nature.

Through the ancient books throughout the years, one complete story can be seen. It is the story of Herobrine. He has caused many to die. Yet, they respawn as if their death never mattered. That is why Herobrine haunts many.

Herobrine was once just like anyone else. As he journeyed throughout his life, he discovered that eventually everyone and everything respawns. Whether it's a dead person, zombie, pig, or enderman, everything respawn. Even if it ends up in another world, everything respawns. This concept made Herobrine curious and interested in the concept of life and death.

This concept of respawning convinced Herobrine that there was nothing wrong with death or killing since ultimately everything would live on. Over the years, Herobrine became so mad with trying to find answers to life's greatest questions that he isolated himself from the rest of society.

Herobrine began to believe that this cycle needs to stop and that there must be away to change the never ending cycle. He believed so deeply that the worlds and everything in them were committing so many injustices by not being able to see that it is selfish to hold on to this life for so long. As years passed, he supposed that since everyone in every world is committing injustices, then life itself was an injustice.

Herobrine wanted to find a way to break the chain of society. He no longer wanted to be just like everyone else, he no longer wanted to live. However, he asked himself how he would be able to complete such a task. How could immortals possibly die? He also asked himself whether he should even try to help this society. He came to the conclusion that since no one would try to listen to him then he would try to destroy everything they hold dear and force them to give up on life. They would do so by simply not doing anything with their lives. If something is doing absolutely nothing with their life, then they aren't truly living.

After he would do this, he would try to fall into a deep sleep, never to be awoken again so that he wouldn't truly live. He decided that if he was to destroy everything everyone held dear, then he needed to stand out to strike fear into them.

Herobrine read a long time ago that there once lived an ancient god under the bedrock layer of an ocean. So Herobrine sailed many oceans to attempt to find this ancient god so that he may make a deal. The ancient god, Mo, was always busy but rarely visited. When Herobrine finally found the temple of Mo, he told Mo "you know, the people you serve are selfish. They would betray you in a second. They are unworthy to be served."

Mo said "I have faith that my people are good people." Herobrine replied "you truly think that they wouldn't betray you?" Mo told him " I know that they wouldn't betray me." Herobrine said " then let's make a deal. If you have so much faith in your people, grant me your powers for 3 years so that I may make terror reign in every world. If some of your people abandon you and decide that they don't want to be apart of this madness of a world, then I get to keep your powers." Mo said " no, if I am wrong then you could only have 50% of my powers, but I know I am not wrong."

Herobrine agreed. Mo included " If I am right and no one wants to leave my world, then you must be locked away for ever." Herobrine while smirking said " sure, if you wish."

Either way, Herobrine got what he wanted because at the end all he wanted to do was to escape the horrid world. For 3 years Herobrine reigned terror in every world. People lost what they worked on for months, they lost cities, towns, pets, and valuables. People even lost hope and didn't want to be apart of any of these insane worlds. Herobrine won the bet and managed to make people see these worlds as a pointless, endless, and constant death.

Herobrine succeeded in his mission. He was satisfied with what he had done. He was satisfied that he caused people to break away from every world. The people that broke away did so by simply burying themselves beneath the ground hoping never to be seen again. Now that Herobrine finished his mission it was time for him to escape life, for not even the power of a god could fix the issue of being alive, for it would have to die to escape being alive. Herobrine put himself in a deep sleep beneath the bedrock and was never seen again.

Steve sat on his bed after reading these books and discovering the truth of Herobrine. Somewhere in him, he agreed with Herobrine and felt bad for Herobrine. He sat there hoping never to leave from that spot, he knew that what Herobrine believed was true. Steve sat there hoping never to move at all, he wanted to escape the endless death because he knew that Herobrine was coming back and was to bring terror once again. Steve sat there wanting to stay still forever. Steve never felt more awake in his life. Sadly he did not know that the Herobrine that he encountered was just a prank from one of his friends....

(Even though I wrote a huge thing that probably no one expected to come out of the contest and even though I probably won't win, I still had fun giving Herobrine a lot of character depth. I really had fun with this story and hope to do more in the future. I really hope that I didn't make anyone depressed and I really hope that this wasn't too dark for some people.)
