First, I wanted to state that this isn't about typos, spelling mistakes or the use of abbreviations. Now that that's out of the way, I'd like to continue with this 'Rant'.
1. No Punctuation
Okay, I can understand a missing apostrophe, a missing comma or a missing Capital Letter, but when someone writes a sentence like it is an ongoing speech with no pauses and no breaks it can be very hard to distinguish or read at all. See what I mean? I mean I'm not a Grammar Nazi, but I still like to be able to understand what you are typing!
2. Overuse of Abbreviations or "LOLspeak"
I myself use the occasional 'lol', 'afk' or 'idk', but my sentences aren't 7 characters long. When ur using gr8 amounts of LOLs, OMGs and ROFLs, it becomes annoying, and what has saved you 2 seconds in typing has given me the challenge of trying to work out what the hell you've just said.
3. Overuse of *gulp* PMC smilies.
This is normally not a problem, but when some 9 year old can't help getting all mad, they don't need to type 100s of "mad" or "evil" smilies. This is actually a quote from someone on a post, I won't mention who, but it is a perfect example;
"If This Does Happen My Face Will Turn Like This:
"
That sentence is so... Badly formed. It uses a smiley to convey an emotion, of which I cannot really decipher.
4. RanDom CapiTals
Sometimes it looks good to have more than one word in a sentence with a Capital Letter at the start, especially in a title. But When Someone Has Capital Letters At The Start Of Every Single Word oR hAs cApiTal LeTTers RandOmlY In eVeRY siNGle WOrd tHeY TyPE, it becomes a jumble, a hodge-podge of unformed, underdeveloped words making a terrible excuse for a sentence.
5. Numb3rs 1ns1d3 w0rd5
My 5th and last Pet Peeve is numb3rs 1nsid3 0f w0rd5. It is unnecessary, and makes any text a mumbo-jumbo of undecipherable words. It is time consuming to translate and annoying to look at.
