Hello all!
Today when I was making my custom skin, I had an idea, that migh help other "skinners" with shading their skins. I have the first shader, that is available to EVERYONE! All you have to do, is to download my shader, and apply it to your prepared skin, and woalla! Your skin is now shaded! I've included a short video on how it works, I'm using photoshop but it is compatible with any other program, that has layer options.
So please tell me what you think /subscribe/diamond/favorite/comment!
NEW LINK FOR SHADING TUTORIAL

!!BEWARE IT IS AGAINST THE RULES TO USE THIS ON ANY EXISTING SKINS!!

Here are links for download:
1 CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE SHADER!

Keep in mind that this is my first version of shader, I will be improving it through time and updating it!

Here is the video, so you know how it works! :)

You sure it's not allowed to put this on existing skins? I asked permission and was allowed to use your shader on a skin...

I've been developing an automatic MC skin shader and I've been working on creating a skin shader layer like yours and it would save me alot of time & effort if you were to let me use this skin shader (layer). You will also be receiving full credit for what you have done & more.

Temporarily disabled the submission. Changes are required.
Please add a disclaimer stating that it is against our rules to upload skins made using this shader. We see a huge number of skins uploaded that have been shaded using this, and they all must be removed. Most people are unaware that it is against our rules to upload these skins. Thanks. Once you have added this, request re-enabling of this submission.

Because skins should be original, and made completely by one person and all that crap. Why can't people just make skins to let others use them?

If you try to copy the head format to the hat format AFTER you shadded, and delete the skin to make it look like a hat, you get a shaded hat!!!

The reason he didnt put a hat format slot is, it may interfere with non-hat figures or skins.
Edit Reply Delete
This is pretty good although it looks rather strange, I'd recommend it for shading newbies but I still prefer the hard-labour pixel by pixel technique.

Can you add the two different shades of shaders that are seen in the video?

It would be useful to be able to adjust for different skin types.

P.S check out the skins I made with this.

Photoshop is a paid software, you can't get that for free, unless you want a cracked (illegal) version. Some people said that gimp works with it, try getting that one ;)

You don't need Photoshop.
You could use Nova Skin.
You could make your skin there then add the shader as a layer.

I shade mine by hand but they usually turn out like this, this is a link to my page:

*sigh*

1-You open your skin in an image editing program that supports transparency.

2-You download one of his shaders.

3-You paste the shader image into the same image as your skin.

why do the download links bring up differentthings! PS wich one do i click????

Sabre,

Could you make one that shades the hats also? My skin's hair also uses the hat and I would like that shaded too. If you see this please respond! :3

- Kat
Edit Reply Delete
I'm a bit busy right now.. but you can just copy the head part of the shader and paste it on the hat parts ;)
