Shading Skins the easy way - iD3rpage

This is going to be a quick tutorial done in 10 easy steps on how to shade your Minecraft skins and make them look 100% nicer! :)

Step 1: Paint.NET

You will need a program called Paint.NET, If you don't have this program this isn't the tutorial for you. Get Paint.NET at the link listed below:

paintnetblogpngPaint.NET: http://www.getpaint.net/download.html

Step 2: Your skin..

First, you need to make a skin. Don't try to shade right now. Just be normal colors pixelated, etc.

Example:

Step 3: Coloration.

All you need to do next is follow these steps:

1) Go to the Effects bar. 2) Go to "Noise" 3) Click on "Add Noise.."

addnoiseblogpng

Next, This window should pop up:

addnoiseblogpng

Don't flip out. Your skin in the background will turn rainbow, that is normal.

Change the setting to somewhere around these until it looks good:

addnoiseoptionsblogpng

If you did that correctly, it should look like this:

Step 4: Shading Templates.

Next, you need the download these templates made by the user Kefka.

Go Subscribe to him and check out his amazing skins! :)

Template 1(Suggested): http://tiny.cc/216hxw

Template 2: http://tiny.cc/b36hxw

Step 5: Applying the template..

Or you can drag and drop the template into the Paint.NET window:

addlayeroptionsblogpng

Hit "Add Layer"

Step 6: Don't worry..

Don't freak out, your skin will look like this:

This is totally normal.

Step 7: Almost Done.

You can either do this:

layerpropsblogpng

Or, you can just hit the F4 button on your keyboard and this will pop up.

layerpropsblogpng

Name it whatever you want.

Keep the "Visible" check on.

Change the "Mode" to Overlay.

Then change the Opacity to your liking. (Keep it in the 200's)

Step 8: You're done!

When you are done, you should have a fully HD, Shaded skin!

It should look something like this:

doneblogpng

If it doesn't look anything like it, you did something wrong..

Step 9: Credits

Go subscribe to Kefka for letting me use his Shading templates in this tutorial!

You need Paint.NET for this tutorial: http://www.getpaint.net/download.html
