 Part 1 is in update logs. Here is the second: After you get some coal or charcoal, make torches. If you have raw food, cook it. Next, you should either go mining, or hunting. If you want to mine, here it is: Make somestone picks and shovels, swords if on easy, normal, or hard. Also, bring food (again, easy, normal, hard). If there is a revine, you should probably go their first. If not, you should start digging down, but not straight down. When you dig, you will most likely find coal. When you mine, you should also find iron, which is very useful. Whatever you do, DO NOT mine gold or diamond, your pick is too weak. After you find some iron, go back to your house and smelt them. You will get iron ingots. If you want to hunt, here it is: Make a cobble sword. You should go not too far away from your house to hunt, if you want to, put some torches as a reminder where to go when you return to your house. If it is day, kill cows and sheep, the 2 most important mobs right now (beacause of wool, food, and leather). You should basically kill anything other then wolves and ocelots (cats). If it's night, I recommend to kill spiders and zombies. After you've done enough hunting, return home.

This is going to be short, but this might help. First, you should find trees. Once you get 3 logs, craft them all into wooden planks. Make sticks, crafting table, and a wooden axe. This would speed up the chopping process. After you get alot of wood logs make a house. I usually make a 8x4 house. You should also make a sword to kill mobs and kill animals for their goods. Optional: Make a shovel and get snowballs if your in a snowy biome, snowballs can help with snow golems and your first night. Next, you should go underground. So make a wooden pickaxe. Mine some stone. Optional: Mine until your pickaxe breaks After you mine some stone, Make a stone shovel, sword, and Pickaxes. Before this, make a furnace. If you haven't found coal, cut down trees but don't make them into wooden planks, keep them as logs. In the furnace, put wooden planks in the bottom and logs at the top. This will create charcoal (basically the same thing). This can smelt things in the furnace or make torches.

I knew this already, but I start with one tree, make a workbench, sticks, and pcik. Get 18 cobble, then make a sword, pick, axe, and shovel. Then make a furnace. Then I use the axe to chop down 24 worth of wood, and make charcoal, and use  the extra wood for planks.
