Texture Pack OVERHAUL of 1.5
Some of you may know that with the upcoming update 1.5 o the redstone update there will be a few changes in how texture packs are created and supported. Below are a few of the key areas I find that need to be known when creating a Texture Pack for 1.5
- The gui/items.png & terrain.png files will be split up into individual block.png files. (this means that each block will have its own .png file
- Minecraft will o supporto HD texture packs by filling in missing textures with the default minecraft texture files. (this means that if a texture pack creator forgets an item minecraft will still show it for you but at the normal resolution not the TPo s resolution)
- There will be Animations in the new texture pack .png files as there are now in some packs. These will be included in the block and items folders in the texture pack. (for example fire will not be a 16x16 .png file but will be taller and have the an animation laid out for minecraft to mimic in game.
What will happen to our existing texture packs?
Do not worry Dinnerbone has made a jar file that when run, searches for your texture pack folder and then you can CONVERT your existing texture packs into the 1.5 format
The file can be found here > Link to unstitcher file <
Along with this he has also provided a zip file with the current snapshoto s textures in it to show the layout of the new way texture packs are going to be after 1.5 > Link here <
I hope this helps people in creating new and editing existing packs, if you like this blog please show your support by Subbing and Diaminding
