This was a school assignment last year and I decided it would be cool to share with you guys here :) I apologize if the grammar or wording isn't the best, but I'm an excellent writer for my age (13).

It was 11 at night, and James just couldn’t fall asleep. Earlier today, his friend told him there was an old abandoned hospital about half a mile away from his house, and James couldn’t stop thinking about it. It was taking over his mind. He felt the urge to go explore it. James knew he’d get in trouble, maybe even get grounded. But who knows, there could possibly be something useful in it.


It took five minutes for James to decide. He decided he’d go. It wouldn’t hurt him. James got up and out of his bed. He silently pulled on his clothes and snuck down the stairs. He opened up the back door. It was much quieter than the front door, and just slid open.


The backyard wasn’t very big. It didn’t have fences either. James just walked out of the backyard onto the street.The street was empty. His bike was just out on the driveway. He decided to bike because it would be much faster than walking or running.


About twenty-five minutes later, he arrived at the hospital. It wasn’t big, but it wasn’t small. It was definitely abandoned. There was graffiti on all of the outer walls. There was even some graffiti that said “Help me” in red. Most of the bricks were cracked. A few had even fallen out.

The doors were slightly open. James assumed it was from the wind. He pulled the doors open. They came open with a quiet “CREEEAAAK”.


The place had a bunch of desks and other medical equipment. All the walls were white, and he found a gap in the wall that lead to a small room painted red on the first floor. He looked around the small room. Nothing was in there, except for a human-shaped shadow on the wall he came in from. James assumed it was his shadow, but the sun wasn’t out, and there were no lights in the room.

It didn’t matter.


He didn’t see anything else, anyway. He took a step to the side. The shadow didn’t move with him.

He looked behind him. Nothing was there. He then turned back to where he was facing, and the shadow was gone. He looked at his watch. 11:55. It was really late, and he was getting tired. He walked out of that small red room. Down the hallway he thought we saw the shadow again.

He walked down the hallway that he saw the shadow in. He thought he saw the shadow go into a room at the end of the hallway.


James saw a light coming from a room at the end of the hallway. His watch said 11:59. Almost midnight.


He slowly walked over to the room. The light was very dim, and he could barely see anything.


Suddenly, James heard a loud, high-pitched scream. He turned around. Nothing was there. Then, right when he turned around, he was face-to-face with a half-dead zombie nurse. Half of the nurse’s face was rotten flesh and peeled-off skin, and the other half was normal.


James was just standing there, full of shock. He didn’t think to run or try to get away. The nurse opened her mouth. A gooey, red substance came out. It wasn’t blood, but it was burning James. It stung him very badly, and he felt like his brain was falling out of his head.


He saw a red ghostly body of himself go into the nurse’s mouth. James fell to the ground. His eyes were white with no pupil. Glowing white. He was pulled up with some sort of eerie force. He felt as if his face has been ripped off, and all that was left was rotting, bloody, flesh.


The nurse’s face was glowing. Skin started to cover up her wounds. She ran outside the hospital. Then, James tried to run outside the hospital. He felt an invisible wall. James tried again, with no luck.


James was trapped… trapped forever…
