Yes. This is a Rant. About a Rant:

If you've been looking at the Blog sections popular reel, or even the Homepage's popular reel, you may have found there's a Rant about what most 'Noobs' think a PMC Diamond is. If you have read it, you will have seen that it's basically coloured text being rude, and poorly made.

Let me be one of the few to say that it's just sick to have read that. That does not something that anyone would want as an example to our community. To hate a group of people who are new to this website is also sick. Everyone, and I do mean everyone, was a 'Noob' to this site once. Even some of the Moderators you see today. Not all of them were here from the start of Planet Minecraft. Just like regular Members.

We should be helping the new Members that come here. If they ask for help. You should assist them. Perhaps one day they'll become a liked Member on Planet Minecraft who will provide Skin or Texturepack content for us. Or maybe even someone who hosts a great server that becomes popular.

So that's the end of my rant. In conclusion, we should respect everyone who comes to PMC. We were all new at one point, and you should respect anyone else who will be put in the same place as you once were.

You viewing this Blog is good enough, you don't have to give Diamonds of Favourites. Thanks for reading.

The community is the people who hand out in the chatbox, chillin with mods and other people

Completely agree, I started off here a little over a week ago. Found this site by chance actually through another forum when I was posting up an adventure map I made. I posted on 3 sites and I'd have to say this one was the most mixed of the 3. Posted a hello thread in the introductions and got no response. Saw blog upon blog of terrible spelling mistakes and borderline aggression. Gave me a terrible first impression. But there were a few older members who were kind to me and the response on my first ever map was kind and positive. This site seems to have its good and bad but those who were kind helped trump the rudeness and so I decided to stay. Very well written post and glad to see some clear headed-ness in the blogs.

to a degree true :/ some of the "noobs" that come here be real jerks just cause they can but not all from time to time one joins and gets along well i remember when i first came i wasnt mean or anything but i was always worried i might or did break the rules and would be banned :/ for those that come new to the site that dont completly be rude as there are a few we should welcome and help them and let them know they are welcome

Yeah. I do hate those though that upload stolen skins and doesn't read the rules and stuff and hate on me/us because we tell them to stop uploading skins that arent theirs.
But sadly, people cant read the rules. even if there is just 3 sentences and about 30 words about what to do on the site.

Yeah, I understand they are "new", but If they dont read the rules and spam PMC with crappy texture packs and skins, I really dont think they deserve to be treated very damn kindly. I have read all the rules at least 3 times since I joined and, thanks to that, have uploaded work wich people like and download.

I mean, even if you're new to a website.. Use some common sense, everyone can "Guess" what a diamond means...

I must say when I started I was a total N00b


It was not very fun getting down votes at first BUT then cyprezz came....(I failed skinning and making projects)


I started writing story's and I got a server, Became more chat room active and BAM Diamonds everywhere!


I realy do think we should help those "New Comers" Ranting them is just like humiliating someone who cant do something you want them to!


This blog is realy good and deserves diamonds!

Agreed I absolutely love the idea of this site. Mainly cause youtube is already a vicious site for sharing and some may not have the equipment/software to upload awesome vids. This site is amazing for its ability to share your creativity and def giving support to those who may not be noticed.

Seriously man.... I am fucking SICK of noobs asking me to make them a mod or texture pack,a dn why do we even have to help them? What teh fuck is the point of that, they are not 3 year old or something. They are just people like you and me, but they just discovered this site. I also hate noobs who say like "this is my first texture pack, so be kind please". if you say it's good when it acually sucks BALLS, they NEVER learn how to make a real texture pack etc.

But when you were new to this site, people probably thought of you like this too. I didn't say you had to say everything they do is great, you should give them constructive criticism on how they could do better.


As for the whole texturepack thing, you could ask them to try and make it themselves, or even post a guide on how to make good texturepacks.

I do not agree with the title you put up. There is a difference between "noobs" and "newbs". There is nothing wrong with newbs. They are simply just new to a site and they are the ones you talk about. A noob, however is an annoying troll who is usually a kid and wants to annoy a community. I think you should revise this blog. Newb=good. Noob=bad.

Actually, Noob started out as another word for newbie. But somehow, people have changed it into an insult. Personally, I use it as a word for a person that is a novice to a place. 


It's more or less how you see the word.
