What Happened to Minecraft?

               After much feedback and the insanely immense support I have gotten from all of you, the PMC community, I have finally decided to put the rant into a blog. Also, it fits since I rarely have time anymore to answer everyone's forum posts. As such, redirect all comments and whatnot HERE. Have fun!

P.S. I may also add other rants as I go along playing Minecraft.

Before i begin, I'm just going to say that this is going to be a long and angry rant. Leave now and go play on what I'm angry about. Or listen to the truth. Your decision.

Rant 1)-What Happened to innovation? Nowadays all the servers copy each other. Thee are so many "hardcore" PVP servers nowadays, and the over a hundred servers of that variant, the large, small, and in-between, that I've tried have all proven this statement. The players there try so hard to develop a tightly knit community and a attempt to influence a server better than any other, but then stupid staff and naive and/or stupid owners just take it all apart. In the past two days I've tried three servers. One whose name i can't remember, Merciless PVP, and Elemental PVP have proven that hardcore PVP servers are all alike and the same. Naive and/or stupid Owners who make concessions to their players or downright screw half of their community up the arse. One of these owners blatantly said that he cares only about the unique hits his server gets. And then to add insult to injury, many of these servers include "Donor Perks" at hefty prices. More often than not, most of that money goes STRAIGHT to the owner. He bathes in money for the community then shuts down his server after about 6 months and takes away the profit. It's sad.

Rant 2)-What happened to servers that don't include what's said above? Sure PVP, griefing and raiding are all nice, but whatever happened to simply getting your buddies onto a nice server starting up some kind of settlement and ruthlessly battling the forces of Minecraft's nature? I don't see these anywhere anymore, where honest owners, honest staff, honest admin, and honest players all decided to play in a tightly knit community that genuinely attempts to cater to the community. These servers have been practically wiped off the map! What servers are, are all whitelisted or "Sign up on the Forums". Many of us don;t want to do either, or want to jump right in and play. But these people have become paranoid of players who grief and etc because those kinds of players are the ones who are being catered to in the community. It's pathetic.

Rant 3)-What happened to Minecraft in general? I haven't been here in the community as long as most of you, but I am involved in it as much as possible. I've been here for over a year now and I've seen it change from good to great to "What in all of Hell just hit us?" Minecrafters themselves have gone from docile fanatics and straight up awesome people into craven, bloodthirsty animals that are no different from the idiots, (yes, 30 year olds, 11 year olds, and 6 year old included, as well as everyone else!), who play and troll all over Modern Warfare and the like.

In conclusion of my rants, I want to know what has happened to Minecraft, and any comments and explanations for the rants above would be helpful.
