Why Should We Stop Drawing On Pmc? [RANT]

I don't want to cause anything but, it says you can only upload Minecraft related stuff.
Couldn't you get banned for that stuff?
You could make a DA and post all of it on that and it links with PMC :D

this reminded me soo badly that i need to upload some drawings to PMC. thanks!

in all fairness though, i think that all drawings should at least be minecraft or PMC related

I think it isn't really bad to draw on PlanetMinecraft but than I think there must be draws of minecraft.
On the other side, I disagree with myself.

3 sections of the site do not have to have anything to do with minecraft. Chat, the everything else section of the forums, and blogs. Most talk of minecraft itself on this site is just advertisements or server related anyways. Keep up the art, as that's a form of creativity and lets face it, that's what minecraft is really about.

Wait a second...making skins is art isn't it? So why are we allowed to make skins? It is basically drawing.

lol yeh it still doesn't belong on PMC, it belongs on deviant art or some other art themed posting website. PMC is for minecraft, plain and simple. Mods allow it, do I agree? No. 

I agree mate, I draw alot for this site and I hate to see people hating on drawings. I just haven't seen it on mine though.

I'm SO with you! I've seen it on my art and I deleted it right away. I hate it when people criticize me with the fact that it isn't DA and it doesn't belong here! Well, Minecraft is about creativity, right? So just think about it this way--drawing IS creativity so why shouldn't it be on PMC? And sometimes I draw people's Minecraft Avatars, (Yep, I take drawing requests,) so what's the big deal!? I mean, come on!

Of course we shouldn't stop. It's creativity, and if it wasn't allowed, there wouldn't be a forum section for it. Come to think of it, pretty much every submission posted is creativity of some form. Stories? Creativity. Poems? Creativity. MC Builds? Creativity. Why single out people that draw? My guess is ignorance, but hey, whatchagonna do?

Well do you know why people don't like art anymore? ITS OVERUSED! I'm no artist but I have seen better art then what I see on Planet Minecraft. All the art anyway is stupid ponies or anime nothing oringinal. 

Its the same as saying as Bronies are not appropriate here!
In the forums, there's a Fan Art & Creativity section for a reason.
Whats the use of that if people aren't allowed to post their personal art here.

posting occasionally is quite fine but if we get too carried away it might end up in a different thing.

I think it's very unfair that people ridicule the art that we post. Let me ask you, if this is a Minecraft only site, then why are there bronies everywhere? What does MLP have to do with Minecraft? Nothing. So why be biast and attack the artists. Not to mention the fact that under blog options it says "Art" and not "Minecraft Art". 
The fact that Cyprezz himself commented on here saying that he supports Art on the site means that it's allowed. Im pretty sure when it comes down to site rules and regulations Cyprezz would know better than anyone else. People are just being jealous. You have to realise that there are sections on the site that allow people to post what they want, eg the Everything Else forum topic. I dont see [many] people attacking others who post on there. Same applies to the Art section, it doesnt specify under the rules on posting in there that it has to be Minecraft Art. 
Just stop arguing. You've lost, your point is invalid. Art is allowed on the site.

Maybe it's not a question of where it "belongs" but a question of where it is tolerated and fits the purpose of the website. Lets see here, lets explore our options. On one hand we have a website dedicated to Minecraft builds, Minecraft skins and Minecraft servers (Planet Minecraft). Or a site dedicated to every art related, user created image. Whether it be hand drawn, CGI or created with any other medium (Deviant Art). It seems pretty obvious which site I would personally choose to post my art work on. Deviant Art.

Moderators are only endorsing your art because it benefits them. They get a custom profile picture and you get the good feeling inside that you now have brownie points with a mod (yes I am saying the mods are in the wrong). As for the rest of your fan base, I put it down to this; if someone is scrolling down the page and they stumble across a picture they think is particularly interesting and out of the ordinary, of course they are going to have a look at it. It's something they were not expecting while browsing a site like this.  Maybe they think it's so good they'll go as far as to subscribe to you.

I won't hesitate to say your work is of a high standard and is visually stimulating. Of course it is, most art is! We all like art! But is PMC a place for people who enjoy art to share and browse art? No. It is a place to share and browse Minecraft related creations.

Saying things like "but we don't care" seems awfully arrogant. If people don't like and don't desire what you're creating (apart from the idiots that come to PMC to view completely unrelated content) and are openly telling you it does not belong here (for example, me) perhaps you should seriously question your motives for posting it in the first place.

If you're looking for people to compliment your work, use and share your work and just generally admire it, you truly would be better off posting it on a site dedicated to that sort of thing. For example DEVIANT ART.

In addition to this, if you were a dancer, and went to a dance related website you wouldn't expect to see post after post after post of completely unrelated content for example posts on cooking and various recipes. I'm sure you would get rather frustrated having to constantly sift through posts to sort the related content from the unrelated, unwanted content.

One of the first things you would do is ask a mod why it was being allowed and inform him off what a hindrance it is. If he/she were to say to me something along the lines of "Well, sorry to break it to you, but we don't care" you would be quite upset and you would most likely leave the site, never to return. By mods encouraging these unrelated art posts, they're basically telling everyone "we don't care"

Ok, first of, this is not an ArtBlog or whatelse. Art belongs to DeviantArt, or any other site that has Art in any way as the primary target to be looked at.


I respect People for their Art, I have 3 of them on my Profile, too. 
This art is user related, that means, I dont post pictures of kakashi or who else here. 
But People start more and more to post their sketches from anywhere here, and tell as an excuse that Its not noted somewhere in the Rules to not do so.


Well, thats ok, But people like you, who post a blog about "Well, we are going to post art anyways, Haters gonna Hate" Are just attention seekers and people who want to say something that is not nessesary. 


That is all I have to say to you, if you say your opinion, I say mine too.

I don't perticulary like making art myself I like seeing other artworks, especially from people like you who aren't doing it for money or that but for fun.  I like how people make anamations and that but sometimes I just hate how I go to the projects pop reel and find art and that.  I wanna see custom maps, terrain and builds people make.  They should put them in blogs or pmc should make a new section.  But you sorts of people stil make great work.

I agree with you completely.
People don't understand or respect the fact that some people spend LOT'S of time on art. It's really ignorant and cruel to simply tell a person where it belongs.

Also for all the people that say where art belongs, have you ever seen the blogs that some people make? They don't even put that much time into those and yet all of the art haters don't tell them where it belongs.
