I need help with XP and posting

I've had minecraft since the beta stage but im new to planet minecraft.I know that you get xp points from posting projects or maps or whatever and that levels you up, but if you post a project, does it have to be a multiplayer server or can it be a single player world? Can someone please tell me?

a project would be something your working on weither its smp, ssp, csp or cmp

smp is survival multiplayer ssp is survival singleplayer csp is creative singleplayer and cmp is creative multiplayer.

As P122A said it doesn't matter if your project was made legitimately, in creative, multiplayer or on singleplayer.
