It might be better to ask someone else than Japanese people for their history. In my experience they are not very proud of their WW2 history, which is understandable.

If you just ask what you want to know, you may get a helpful response, or multiple responses which fill the blanks.

It is not about specific part of history like some battle or something like that. Its about something else that I'm sure they know. I would not ask for help from Japanese if I could find it elsewhere. I also need help with something from their language...

It's probably easier to just look up whatever you need from a reliable source or go find a book on Japanese history.

just because they're from japan doesn't mean they know everything about japanese history. just get a historian instead.

Just because they're of Japanese descent, doesn't mean they know their history. And even if they do it might be hard to get an accurate story with the Japanese government's tendency to 'forget' some important bits of its own history.

You kind of are implying that Japanese people aren't smart enough to remember their history.

He means that Japanese normally don't want to remember their history, WW2 was not beautyful for Japan for example. I know a few Japanese, and none of them like talking about the history of Japan, but are fairly interested in other nations histories.
