Is asymmetrical just anything else that isn't symmetrical?
I'm doing an art project for college, and we can do something that's either symmetrical or asymmetrical. What I'm understanding is that asym. is just balance on both sides of an imaginary line, without being completely even (symmetrical). and symm. is just "a perfect mirror reflection"?

"Asymmetrical" just means "not symmetrical", so yes, anything that's not symmetrical is asymmetrical. Like OneSidedBattle said, though, it's generally considered good for art to have balance even if there's no symmetry (BUT balance isn't an actual requirement for asymmetry).
(disclaimer: I don't have an incredible amount of experience with asymmetry in the context of art so I'm not certain this will be 100% correct for your purposes)

Asymmetry can also be balanced on both sides without being exactly the same if the image was folded in half. Good art will generally be balanced no matter where you draw the line at.

symmetrical is if it can be mirrored

I do know about symmetrical, it's just asymmetry that's (for some stupid reason) confusing me. Like, is everything that isn't symmetrical (but has balance) classified as asymmetrical?
