SamstrongmanI'm more of a hands on person, so instead of reading a textbook/book, I like to do it myself, and I enjoy watching TheBCBroz channel to learn plugins, as they are easy to follow and there are many tutorials that'll help you learn to make plugins.

Try to learn Java and plugins and the same time. Put more effort into learning Java though.

Here's something that may work for you: Try learning Java in the summer. Worked nicely since I found that:

1. Your brain doesn't go to mush during that time off.

2. You don't have school projects coming first.

Code Academy doesn't teach Java, but JavaScript, which is different. You should just buy a textbook and thoroughly study it, like my brother is doing. Also, make sure the book is up-to-date.

I've had personal experience with http://www.codecademy.com/ however, without the time, or willpower to do it, you'll most likely fail in your goal. Coding is a lot harder than one might think. Although I do wish you luck in your goal to learn coding.

I have seen this website. But it does not cover the basics of minecraft plugin coding.
