In beta 1.3, when creating a new world there is a box where you can type in a seed. Post any seeds you found out here. To find out a seed, just type anything in the seed box and start a world.

Seed list:

floatingislands - Creates a few floating islands.

Notch - Spawns you in a foresty place that is half desert and half grasslands many hills.

Nether - Just like notch, but without the hills.

Will be updated with new seeds every now and then

Spawn point may be different, But is usually within a 10 x 10 block radius. Results may be a little different.

If it does not work at first, Check your spelling and try again. If it does not work for the second time, check your spelling again. Third time? Check the spelling or contact me.

Actually, when I tried "Mac", I spawned in a tiny cave on the edge of a desert. I don't think I've ever spawned in a cave like that before.

The spawn point is not at all tied to the seed, spawn seems to be widely random within a certain area around (0,0). Only one that i have found that has a specific spawn point is the seed Testing, which gets you to spawn at (0,0). When you talk about awesome things that you find in your worlds, list the x.z coordinates that you see when you press F3 (yes, X and Z, Y and Z were switched for which one measures vertical distance in the display and stuff.)
The god of computing wants a sacrifice, and volunteers are being called for.

Interesting enough, the seed "Debug" also has a fixed spawn point.

Of course I had to try "PlanetMinecraft.com"... it's actually not too bad. :D

Contrary to popular belief, most seeds DON'T create identical worlds; merely ones that have certain parameters decided for them when they're "randomly" created.

That's not to say that there aren't SOME that do, though. But upon exploring outside of the original map parameters, the surrounding world is, again, randomly decided.
