I've been running my server for a little over a year now and feel I have picked up everything pretty well over the last year. This one has me stumped though. I need to be able to change my gamemode for various reasons.. repair grief, build server structures, and so on. I have never had problem since I started running my server, until now.

Now every time I try to It just says "Changed Tyshark9's GameMode to Survival"

I have tried /gm 0, /gm 1, /gm 2. and they all say survival. I have tried spelling out gamemode, tried adding my name to the command. I always get gamemode is set to survival. Is this a bug with 1.3? I am using the latest Recommended build of CraftBukkit.

Plugins include:
AntiCheat
bPerms
Essentials
LWC
MCBans
Towny
WorldEdit
WorldGuard

All up to date. all configs are set up properly. Unless something changed in 1.3 that I messed that needs to change in one of my plugin configs.

Any ideas?

i have bukkit server on 1.3.1 works for me what gm plugin do you use and are you using the rec build

It all of a sudden started working for me today. I did not change or update a single thing. This Minecraft update has been acting really weird.

I'm having this same issue. I was only able to change it using the BukkitGUI.

Permissions has a lot to do with it... If you have Essentials there is a perm for it...

Well, I'm op.. Shouldn't that override Perms?

I'm using the updated version of Essentials and haven't found this problem. As long as it's updated you should be fine.

Well i had 1.2.5 server, and i just had to do /gm to change to my gamemode, but in 1.3 i have to do /gm 1 or /gamemode 1
I wonder what changed.

They added a third gamemode, adventure mode. So you can now either use gm 0,1 or 2.

Well that explains it, but my friends server is 1.3 too, and all i have to do is /gm
So why do i have to do /gm 0/1/2 in my server?

Your friend hasn't updated essentials?
