Hello so I am currently studying to be a game designer and have been working on a game with a few of my friends and what happens is you are either a cop or a criminal and if you are a criminal you have different abilities have to outsmart the police and I was wondering if any of you have any ideas for criminals classes I already have 9 criminal classes and just want some ideas incase I want to change or to edit them so maybe give a brief description on what you want your character to do. Thanks cya

maybe a class that's stealth-related
you have to stay in the shadows until there's a perfect opportunity to pick off people or to sneak through security to disable locks on doors/gates

or a class that's more based on speed and confusion
they can distract while the others try to access an area that they normally couldn't with someone keeping an eye on that certain spot

Yes I do already have a class related to that who can avoid cops and go into restricted places. But that other idea I really like , I do have a class sort of planned that you don't get caught by cops don't attack cops but you give money and help the other criminals good idea though I might change my idea

i'd suggest:
- crowd control: has a riot shield to block incoming bullets and protect team mates, a pistol or low damage weapon and is slow
- some sort of sniper class that uses higher buildings around the map to spot and/or kill enemies of course
- breacher: specialised in breaching doors and other objects in the way, can have a battering ram or explosives to clear the path, uses a medium-low damage gun and medium-high armor
can't really think of any others.

i do think though that a team should have a limit on the amount of classes that can be chosen per round, for example a whole team can not go as crowd controll or a sniper to make the game a bit more enjoyable.

Thanks for the ideas I might implement them and yes I do realise about the limit that is why the game picks a random class that noone in the team has which I think would make it that you have to adap. I like your crowd control idea alot so I think I will add it

picking a random class for someone does have a risk though, the problem is that if someone does not know how to play as a certain class he will be stuck with it, but if for example you can discuss with team members about who picks which class gives it a greater form of teamwork (which i guess is the goal of the game) and helps people who can't play most classes well.

Nine classes is an awful lot. Do you really need that many for this game to work?

Did I say it hadn't been done before? I'm bringing up the number because it's relatively large compared to most other games I've played, at least online ones. Assuming this game is being built for practice rather than part of some big assignment, I worry that OP is over complicating what could otherwise be a more straightforward, more focused game.

Of course, none of us know anything about the game beyond what mino490 has mentioned, so maybe I'm wrong.
