Couldn't set pixel format.
My launcher updated, but I can't play Minecraft. It just crashes and the message "Couldn't set pixel format" pops up. I looked online and saw some people suggesting to upgrade my graphics driver. But it can't update.
Anyone know how I can play the game again?

Because when I try to update it via Windows 10 settings, I get this message:
Never try updating driver with Windows 10 settings. It rarely works. Download it straight from your graphics device's manufacturer site. If it has a whole application meant for your graphics device (mine has AMD Catalyst Control Center for example), I suggest to download that to update things for you.
MrByeah16And before you ask, I uninstalled and reinstalled Minecraft.
People who suggest that anger me; I wouldn't ask that lol.

Use Nvidia Experience to update it. Otherwise, You will need to update it manually.

does it work if you use linux mint instead of windows?

Why would he need to use linux? You don't need to install another OS on your PC lel

if one doesn"t have the driver maybe the other one does
and a side benefit is having an operating system that doesn"t let a u.s. corporation spy on you

Why do you say you can't update your driver?
Because when I try to update it via Windows 10 settings, I get this message:
"There were problems installing some updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help:
NVIDIA - Display - 12/29/2016 12:00:00 AM - 21.21.13.7653 - Error 0x800f0102"
And before you ask, I uninstalled and reinstalled Minecraft.

That error does mean that your graphics aren't supported, just like the "pixel format not accelerated" error.
I don't know what your situation is, but I've only seen that happen on fresh operating system installs or on computers without a graphics card. Or it could just be really, really old.
And yes, the only way to fix it is to either update/install the latest driver, or get a new graphics card.
